Louis frowned at the knock on his door. The sun just set but the heat was still everywhere. Surely, Jael wasn't expecting him to leave in such a situation.
He was standing by his bed trying to pack up what little things he could take. He intended to make his journey light.
He hasn't been to the Xanthus estate for most of his life. He was sure Walter would be thrilled to have him back. He wished he could say the same.
He walked to the door and pulled it open. The servant jerked. "Lord Louis."
"Save the greeting and tell me what this is about." It was hard to control his voice. There was no reason to take it out on the servant.
"I am really sorry for the interruption but The Primus would like to see you in his study."
Louis raised a brow, "What?" It was the last thing he had expected to hear. He had thought the servant was here to chase him out of the castle.
