Jael frowned as he stared down at the physician. It was over two weeks but the poor human was still frightened of him. The strong smell of fear permeated the air around him.
Jael might say it was better but the difference didn't seem significant. However, this wasn't unusual. Humans' fear of him was more than the average vampire.
Was something wrong with Mauve then? Because she overcame her fear relatively quickly or at least there was some significant difference within the first couple of weeks.
He shook his head, the first time he had seen her, he had found her amusing and he could get over how small and fragile she was. He still thought all those things but he would be lying if said there was nothing more now.
He grunted and closed her room door. He wanted to keep her close and safe. He also wanted to give her whatever she wanted.
