When the Inn comes back into view, I see Li Jie pacing back and forth with worry all over his face. When he looks up and sees me, he freezes before running over to me. He looks me over and asks "Are you okay? Did he do anything to you? Did he hurt you??"
I sigh at the rapid questions and say, "Calm down, I'm fine. He was odd and annoying, but he didn't really do anything. When are we leaving?" The sooner the better, I say to myself. Li Jie looks confused and worried, but he seals his lips. He didn't do anything to her? He just let her... go?
That man was a Cultivator and a powerful one at that. He didn't stand a chance against the man, but she's okay!? He thinks back to the way she remained standing and unbothered when the Cultivator unleashed his power.
He has even more questions now, but he holds his tongue and says, "We'll leave first thing in the morning. The last report we received from my father was just outside of the city gates. I had men look into it and it seems like the powerful Fang family lives right in the area. I have a feeling they may have had a hand in my father's disappearance, but we have to be careful. The Fangs have powerful Cultivators and even a powerful Array Master. We need to be extremely cautious."
I frown a bit, slightly confused but I nod my head and decide to follow what he says. It's his world after all.
That night, I sit on the bed and close my eyes. Trying to feel for ley lines. My eyes flutter open in shock, such large and pure ley lines! If this was so, how were there not more witches here?? I frown looking over to the open window.
The bright moon drifts into the small room, giving everything a soft glow as I think. Maybe there were? I just don't feel anyone else like me. I close my eyes again, using my magic to search through this foreign land.
There are several powerful beings and creatures, but nothing like me. My eyebrows draw in together as I slowly open my grey eyes. How can I find out if this is my world or not? I run a hand through my dark hair as I sigh and fall back on the bed.
I look up at the ceiling as I try to figure out what to do next. Aiya... my eyes burn as I clench my hands. Was I really so blind to her and her true feelings? Or was I just lying to myself? No, she hid it well and I feel like a fool.
Who were those dressed in the cloaks? They were using black magic, trying to rip my magic away and consume it. It was forbidden to do such and thing and not something that was even taught. I only know about it because Vanir had shown me very old scrolls.
How had they known about it? Hell, how had Aiya known about it!? I start suspecting everyone as my mind spirals, but I quickly close my eyes and turn on my side. I open my eyes and stare out of the open window once again, wondering what I was supposed to do.
Something clearly happened when Aiya and I collided. There was so much magic, I'm surprised I didn't freaking explode. Suddenly I feel extremely lonely. I curl my knees up as I stare at the bright moon with dark eyes.
I thought Aiya was my family, my sister. She and her family were all that I had left in this world... or that world. My eyes burn as I feel a dark coldness I've never felt before threatening to consume my heart and mind.
What's the point of any of this? Why am I the only one left out of my family? Should I even try to go back? What would be the point? There's nothing there for me, right? I feel a warm tear slip from my eye as I slowly close my eyes.
I feel so alone and so very cold. Suddenly, I feel my necklace heat up. I slowly reach up and clutch my necklace as if it were a lifeline. No, I had to go back and make her pay. I had to. I continue to hold my necklace as I slowly slip into a deep sleep.
_______
A dark figure silently slips into the room and looks down at the small figure on the bed. He tilts his head and finds that she suddenly seems so small and vulnerable. It was completely different from the attitude she had given him earlier that night.
He looks around the bare room before walking over to her. The Moonlight lays across her like a sheer blanket, showing off her beautiful skin. She was truly flawless. He finds himself frowning, wishing he could see her eyes again.
They reminded him of the moon. Breathtakingly beautiful but cold and distant. He wanted to know what those eyes would look like when she smiles. His fingers twitch, wanting to touch her but fearing to wake her up.
A witch... that's what she called herself. He's never heard of such a thing, but she did say that she wasn't from this world. Then... what was a witch? What was she? His power didn't affect her like it did others and the way she was able to put things back together... walk through walls, change the stairs... what else could she do?
He reaches out, wanting to touch her but freezes again. She didn't want him to touch her.
He reached out earlier, wanting to touch her hair, wanting to make sure she was indeed real. He wanted to know what she felt like. Was she cold and hard to the touch like her eyes were cold and hard? Or was she just like every other human he's ever known?
His eyes drift to her hand and notices that she's holding something. He frowns and leans over, trying to get a better look. It was a chain, but it looked... different. He'd never seen a chain like that before. The craftsmanship was... otherworldly.
And if he wasn't mistaken, it was softly glowing under her touch. How many wonders did she hold? He leans in closer, drawn in by the soft feminine smell coming off her.

My eyes snap open as I look around the empty room. I lift my head and look around with confusion. It felt as if someone was there and it caused me to wake but looking at the empty room, she finds herself frowning. Maybe she was mistaken.
I grab the thin blanket and pull it over me as I lay back down and get comfortable. I must be jumpy.
