Chương 92: The Empire Attacks
Roman Empire,
Capital City Rome,
Galahad POV,
Galahad sat on his bed ignoring the lolis who had taken over his wings, it didn't matter much because he couldn't even feel them there. These things may be soft right now but they were actually very sturdy and a single feather could cut through even metal if he wanted it to. By now the Empire would have started attacking but now they posed no threat to him, if he wanted he could kill them all with a single wave of his hand.
He was just waiting for the reports to come in and he could start attacking. Carrera and Testarossa had already walked off to bring in some food so they could celebrate his return. Mizari and Rein were silently standing beside him in case he wanted something. "Riajuu." Rimuru muttered out looking away, this guy had maids serving him and all he got was that Diablo! The demon came along because apparently he was keeping an eye on Shizue so when she started staying with him he got interested in Rimuru.
Well he was a good butler but still maids have their own appeal! Everyone should understand that much. Galahad looked at him and then looked at Shizue, "You're more...of one." he said smirking, Galahad was no matter what he had done still single but Rimuru had a soulmate, who was the riajuu here?!
Rimuru realizing what Galahad was implying laughed awkwardly, he was the riajuu here! "I-I'm sorry." he apologized embarrassed about it, making Galahad's face scrunch up in disgust, "Stop that dude." he replied looking away, Rimuru was a guy! Seeing him blush disgusted Galahad, he was into women and he hated traps.
Rimuru looked at him slack jawed, "Hey I was just apologizing!" he said, folding his arms, he did nothing wrong. "Look more like....a man then!" Galahad replied equally angry, this goddamn femboy. "Hey Benimaru.....I'm a man right?" Rimuru looked over to Benimaru who spit out his drink and looked away, "W-Well yes." he replied looking away, he definitely didn't think of Rimuru as a beautiful girl and regretted that he technically had no gender.
Galahad smirked, "Heh." he distinctly remembered the part of the LN where Benimaru expressed his dissatisfaction and regret about the fact that such 'otherworldly beauty' was genderless. He even thought of it as a shame. Rimuru looked at Benimaru shocked, "Why'd you stutter?" he asked deadpanning, he was a guy! A bonafide male!
Shizue pulled on Galahad's ear, "Mou, don't tease him too much." she said, smiling a bit, she was happy that Rimuru and Galahad were getting along with each other. Galahad slightly chuckled, "Alright." he said smiling a bit, he was just having a bit of fun with the guy. "Damn you." Rimuru grumbled, he didn't like having his gender doubted.
Hakurou looked at them and stroked his beard laughing, Galahad may be old but he certainly did know how to get along with others. Moreover knowing Galahad's actual status made Hakurou very proud of himself, swordplay praised by one of the oldest entities to walk this planet was actually a very big thing.
But before they could proceed with their little meet up and party Rimuru was contacted by Souei who was patrolling the borders, "The Eastern Empire is marching, they number...." Souei paused for a bit, these numbers were too much. Rimuru listened curiously slightly on guard, he didn't like war much but he saw this one coming.
That Yuuki kid also ran to the Empire after fighting him, apparently he attacked Shizue who managed to repel him with the help of Carrera and he fled to the Empire. When Rimuru learnt of this incident he started keeping track of Yuuki's activities and all of those hinted at war. Rimuru didn't like that though, he was a pacifist who disliked war and suffering so if possible he wanted to avoid it.
With the dungeon up and running they had a stable source of income as well and his nation and people could live in peace for a long time as such he didn't want the Empire to ruin everything. Therefore he wanted to combat them and if possible defeat them without causing casualties on their side as well, hell if it was actually possible he would like to resolve this matter without fighting at all but he knew the Empire wasn't going to be dissuaded. They had been preparing for 300 years after all.
"There are at least 1.5 million soldiers headed our way." Souei said shocked, this army was too large. Rimuru's eyes widened in shock, that many?! What kind of war were they looking for?! They may as well want to conquer this side of the world entirely! Rimuru deployed his spying magic connecting it with Souei's coordinates and waved his hand as a screen appeared above them.
The sheer size of the army had made him forget where he was, all he prioritized was his own people. "My God." he muttered out looking at the sea of combatants marching through the barren land, they had tanks within them and gigantic aerial warships floated overhead. The flagship was a gigantic one and had it's front open.
Within it a single golden haired man was sitting on a throne, his body was covered with jewelry and he wore some simple golden and red robes. He had a small smirk on his face almost as if he knew there was someone spying on him. Beside him stood a woman with azure hair and as soon as Mizari and Rein looked at her they actually started slightly growling angrily, that bitch was the one who dared to attack their Master!
A number of people stood near him as well, a thin man with an eye patch, a man dressed in the uniform of Japanese Naval Officers during WW2, an old man with extremely long white hair and a beard that reached his knees, there were several others but the most shocking thing was that each and every single one of them was giving of an aura equivalent to that of an awakened True Demon Lord except it was repulsive?
"What kind of?" Rimuru said looking at them, what kind of monsters did the Empire have within it's ranks?! This was far beyond anything he would have expected! They were moving in neat ordered rows and with each single step the thunderous roars of their feet clanging against the ground rang out. All of a sudden the woman looked directly in their direction and grinned, she had already locked onto their position.
Rimuru immediately cut the connection to stop her from attacking them and spread the magic signature, the magic's origin changed and their position was safe for now. "I'm sorry but I'll have to head back." Rimuru said quickly turning to leave, he needed to protect his people! Shizue nodded at him, they needed to leave right now. The people were in a lot of danger.
"T-That was Lady Velgrynd." Ivra added in slightly trembling as she fixed her glasses, they had no chance of fighting that thing. Even if they were high True Demon Lord Class monsters they would still get stomped by Velgrynd even in a 4v1, the True Dragons were in a league of their own! Zina laughed loudly and slapped the back of Ivra's head, "You forget who she has to fight you dolt." she said smiling a bit, in front of him even a True Dragon is just a lizard.
Ivra looked at him and nodded, "If it's Master then." she agreed, as frustrating as it was they had not encountered even one situation where their Master displayed how deep the abyss that was his power went. He was strong too strong, even their prided Demon Lord class power was beat down into the ground easily.
Benimaru and Hakurou also followed behind him but before the four could leave the room the sounds of something cracking were heard as Galahad stood up, his wings unfolding into their full majestic forms. Galahad hated the Empire because they tried to force him against his will and made fun of him, even insulting and threatening his family.
Rimuru slightly shivered and slowly looked back to see that the man he classified a Kuudere was grinning, actually grinning as his wings changed into a pure black version of themselves and his eyes glowed a mix of golden and blue. Only now did he notice that this guy actually had sharp, totally inhuman teeth. Galahad was actually happy, now that they gave him the opportunity they were going to pay and face the brunt of a grudge harbored for millennia.
Without paying any attention to his surroundings he threw a block of ice down and he blasted off leaving the entire room in ruin, torrents of wind moved away all the clouds covering the sky as something flew towards the incoming forces. Everyone looked at the destroyed room surprised, a lazy expressionless guy like Galahad actually grinned.
Carrera chuckled and looked at the screen which Testarossa had set up, she gave a thumbs down, "Well they're fucked." she said laughing, if their Master wanted them dead then their chances of survival were zero. Testarossa looked confused, "I wonder why?" she wondered out loud. The Dragon Lolis climbed onto a nearby couch watching on enthusiastically, they didn't know why Galahad was angry but this was something they wouldn't miss for the world.
Shizue looked at the destroyed room, "I never knew he could be so...angry." she muttered out, Galahad remained unbothered even when threatened and insulted so this one was a big surprise. Rein pulled out some popcorn and sat down munching on them, "Oh yeah this is gonna be a good one." she said, smiling slightly forgetting her cool beauty facade.
Mizari looked at the confused people in the room, "Well our Master....
