A mountain pass somewhere near the border of northern wei

A caravan of merchants slowly made their way through the border from an undisclosed location.

This was basically a smuggling route that merchants used to transport goods between nations.

The fact that both nations were actually enemies didn't bother the merchants one bit; all that mattered to them was profit.

"Where are you off to?" A guard in bandit-like clothing slowly walked out of the shadow of a rock in the mountain pass.

He had a sword on his waist.

"Just looking to trade some goods," the merchant in the lead said as he brought out a bag of gold coins.

The bandit looked around for a few seconds before grabbing the bag of coins and quickly tucking them into his shirt.

"Thank you for the gift, but you know the rules. The caravan will still have to donate 5% of the profit that can be made from selling the goods present in the caravan," the bandit said.
