Kimi ran away leaving her father behind and gave a warning. "Use every means to keep yourself safe while I am gone."
As she was leaving there were many water type Pokémon released into the pond while some joined those that stood on the hard stone ground.
Growlithe stayed by her father to help keep him safe but it had heard a stern warning from Kimi. "Do not use fire attacks no matter what happens!"
Her warning was based on the information she had known from her previous life, the current situation was far too dangerous and a single careless move could trigger a lot of destruction.
Not only would there be a lot of damage and death but there would be a lot of disruptions to the path leading out of Pewder City.
The damage would be so large that it would disrupt the human and Pokémon living environments in the area and nearby.
Kimi crawled through the small hole once again then found herself walking deeper down the various paths that lead deeper into the mountain.
There had been a light signal on her phone so she had made her report on her findings and requested aid due to the severity of the problem.
It was wiser to request aid but it was unknown if anything could be triggered early while she was waiting.
It was better to investigate deeper so she had done so and started to get closer to the source of the loud and explosive noises.
Her torch helped to light the way but once she had sensed some auras nearby, she had shut it off to avoid being noticed.
There were several lights in the distance down some other paths which showed that humans had been setting up their own lamps to aid them while they were doing what they were doing.
As Kimi was getting closer to the opening, there were some shadows shown on the wall that had partially exposed the locations of the people within.
She hid and listened in on what they were doing while considering how to proceed.
"How long do we have to do this?"
"Tsk.. stop complaining already."
"It seems too dangerous… if this continues then.."
"You do not get paid to think. Just do your job and stop anyone from approaching."
From the way they talked it was like it was either a part of a private operation being done by a certain group or it was the work of a group of criminals which had hired some others from various dark world or mercenary channels.
In order to cover up their actions and to prevent it from leaking outside, it would not be strange for them to stop people from approaching and would even go as far as killing others to cover up the secrets.
The methods used by such a group would not be legal in any way and they were very dangerous.
If they were pushed into a desperate situation and were given a slight opportunity to fight back then they could do something dangerous that could cause the death of her and themselves.
Kimi had counted two of them who were nearby and one that was walking down another path.
There were several others which were patrolling the area with the Pokémon which were smaller in size.
Her current identity was not suitable for more deadly methods so dealing with a larger group was not going to be easy for Kimi unless she had a sure way to subdue them all without alerting the others.
Her current identity was bound to certain rules that had to be followed in order to avoid tainting that identity while her other identity could be used more freely without such restraints, it was just that in the present situation it had made things more difficult for her.
Her eyes went down to the small purple figure by her feet. 'It seems that it is best to just rely on the two of us but that may not be enough. Hmm… who should I use?'
The combination of an aura and psychic was very advantageous but it would not be enough to deal with every possible scenario.
The body of Kimi was still smaller and not fully grown so her maximum fighting potential could not be put to use.
Her reach was not long enough, her strength was physically weaker, she could not cover as much ground when moving, she was not big enough to reach upper body and her stamina was much less than what an adult could do while some of them seemed to be well trained.
The biggest advantage that she had was her aura but it was useless if she could not hit her target or deal a single powerful blow that would knock them out before they could call for help.
There were additional factors that would provide some problems if they were not knocked out too and that was the various Pokémon they had with them.
If they were not so easy to make faint due to their higher level or their type then the longer the battle dragged on, the more likely that help would arrive.
If the plan failed then she would have to fight back against many people or would have to retreat.
It was very likely that they would chase her down and would not let her go so easily.
Kimi continued to go over the many variables then a cold smile appeared on her face. 'Ahhh.. I could just leave here now and take father back to Pewder City until this has been dealt with but that will only delay my plans. So troublesome! And here I was not wanting to play hero anymore… no no no. That is not right! They are just in the way of my plans, it is not like I went looking for trouble and wished to solve it.'
Kimi was a little conflicted within but then calmed her mind as she had been taught by her previous master to remove her self doubt and to focus on the task. 'It does not matter how I got here.. I can at least give it a try.'
It was not until a little later that within the opening where she had been looking that she stepped out in front of two people that guarded the main entrance to what was happening behind them.
"What? Wait what is a kid doing here?"
"She is hurt? She must have been caught up in the falling rocks.. I knew this place was not safe."
"Grab her quickly and check her over then we can decide what to do with her."
The girl was wearing a beanie over her head so it covered her teal hair and it was not light enough to recognised any distinctive features.
Their gaze was focussed on the scratches and small cuts on her body and the slightly ripped or damaged pieces of clothing on her body as if she had just suffered something terrible.
The girl stumbled forward slowly and clumsily then fell down onto the ground.
All that she had with her was a flashlight and some rations which had been partly eaten.
The two men checked over her and displayed worry on their faces as they turned her over and checked her over. "Hey! Get ahold of yourself! Hey!"
The girl looked very weak and looked as if she was about to faint, one man leaned closer to check over her condition.
"What should we do with her?"
"Dispose of her? Throw her at the entrance? Being her inside like some of the others?"
They did not notice that the hand of the girl had clenched a little as they were talking carelessly among themselves.
