"Father!"
Rune turned around at the sound of the doors opening to see Rienn walk in with a happy grin. She walked over to Serac's side and wrapped him in a hug.
"This is your dad?" Rune asked. He had more or less put two and two together, but it was still a baffling coincidence.
"Mhmm!"
That would make Rienn the daughter of a first beast. Was she even aware of his true identity?
Rune did not think so. From what little he had learned about the man, Serac did not seem like the type to reveal his secrets, even if it was to his own flesh and blood.
"I've taken the liberty of inviting the rest of your group as well. This includes the Arlia siblings. The younger one seemed quite keen on speaking with you," Serac said. Then he gestured to a maid who had accompanied Rienn. "They should be waiting in another room. Neria here will guide you to them."
You can see where my inexperience as a writer comes in. The development between Rune and Rienn probably feels rushed, but I wanted it to happen during this arc. Unfortunately, I just cant think of a better way to do it.
