The iceborns were natural warriors who weren't afraid of any being even if they face gods. They were a bunch of madmen that worship strength over intelligence. However, that doesn't mean they were stupid enough to battle against powerful beings like gods and dragons.
Most ice borns had a great affinity with the ice element which is one of the strongest elements in the magic system. Moreover, they were immune to cold and can reduce fire magic damage which is unusual for polar elements like ice and fire.
Lastly, ice born true warriors had true ice power which can freeze anything in their path. Fortunately, there weren't that many true ice wielders. They were counted on 10 fingers and most of them are known all over the continent. Especially, ice born matriarch ' Ice Crusher' was famous for her bloodlust and cruelty. She wasn't the type of person who would help others for no reason.
Regina couldn't figure out her intentions. She furrowed her eyebrows as she folded her arms.
" Are you sure to trust her? She is the worst of ice warriors."
The captain sighed while he took off his mask. His face was flawless except for a giant scar across his eyes. It was a gruesome scar that showed his past.
" I don't trust her either, but we don't have any choice."
He said with indifference in his tone. He was worried about frozen trolls rather than her due to his intuition. He knew the matriarch wouldn't move on them under the watchful eyes of the royal family. Particularly, the eldest princess was guarding the north with her knight corps. She wasn't a woman who is strong enough to face the entire elite battalion with her monstrous strength. Only her brother could put her down if anything happens in the north.
Regina sighed as she threw the parch to the table. She rubbed her temple with a distressed look.
" Let's rest today. We will meet with them tomorrow."
She said with a light tone. The captain put his mask on as he walked out from the igloo.
Step, thud*
The captain looked at the boy who hit him. He extended his hand as he smiled.
" Are you alright, boy?"
Licht grabbed his hand and got up from the ground. He dusted his coat while he looked at the masked man. His instincts were telling him that this wasn't a simple captain.
The same went for the captain. He was fascinated by Licht's strength because he was only 17 or so. Furthermore, he was a countryside boy who didn't receive any training from the royal institutes or highly esteemed academies yet his strength was par with those noble geniuses.
" What is your name?"
He asked again with a polite tone.
" Licht Silvercrest."
He answered with honesty. Licht felt it was alright to tell his name since they are partners in this mission.
The captain looked at him with bewilderment because he remembered this name clearly. His body trembled with excitement as his eyes shone.
" Are you grandson of the infamous ' Sword Eclipse '?"
He said whilst grabbing his hand.
Licht was taken aback by the sudden movement. He retreated a few steps back.
" How do you know about my grandfather?"
He mumbled in a quiet voice. The captain heard his words.
" Because I was his student in Windsor fortress. He was stronger than the fortress master himself. How is he doing?"
He questioned him with nostalgia on his face. He recalled the days when he used to laugh with his knight companions. They were a bunch of happy-go guys with innocent on their faces.
However, this wrecked Licht's mind. He clenched his fists.
" My grandfather died from an internal injury when I was young. He had a little time to talk about his past."
He spoke with sadness.
The captain's smiling face crumbled down with coldness. His gentle eyes turned into bone-chilling cold eyes.
" Do you know the reason for his injury? Had he mentioned that prior to his death?"
Licht wasn't that confident to tell about his death, hence he hid most of them with his acting skill.
" My father said he was attacked from his rear. Therefore his strength and life force deteriorated quickly."
The captain fell into silence as he patted his shoulders. He went past him with no expression or whatever on his face.
