"The first year of the marriage was good," I started once I have calmed down. I was still in Duncan's arms. He was reluctant to let me go.
I heard footsteps while I was still crying, Fujin must have come back from getting me water. I do not know what Duncan said, but he was not in the room when I came back to my senses.
"He was attentive to our child, he bathed him and took care of me. As primitive as the place where I was, somehow the little things he did make me happy," I said.
Duncan remained silent, letting me talk about my past for the first time. He must have known what happened, but, I guess, he wanted to hear the actual words from me.
