The next day, Fish was awakened by Seamus and the others for the first time in a long time.
The kitten poked his head out from under the covers and looked around groggily, realizing that he was no longer sleeping at home and remembering that it was the start of a new term.
"Meow..."
With a weak meow, Fish reluctantly climbed out from under the covers and yawned widely.
"Huh? Why is there a comb on your pillow, Fish?" asked Dean curiously as he saw a flash of silver on Fish's bed.
"Meow!"(=ΦωΦ=)
At the mention of the comb, Fish immediately perked up, turned his head to the silver comb next to him and purred.
The comb shook and suddenly flew off the bed in a beautiful arc, circled twice around Fish and landed on his body, automatically combing his hair.
Fish was a little annoyed with the comb after his fight with it the night before.
However, it was soon taken by Professor McGonagall, and various magics were applied to it, allowing Fish to easily manipulate the comb to comb his own hair.
Professor McGonagall had a hard time getting the comb to recognize Fish's cries, but with Professor McGonagall's skill, it worked.
So after trying it for a while, Fish began to like it again.
"Meow!"
When he'd had enough, Fish called it back, and the comb went back on the pillow.
Fish didn't rush into human form, however, but licked his paws and rubbed his face for a while before jumping off the bed.
Combing his fur and licking his face are two different pleasures, and Fish won't stop licking his fur just because he has a comb.
"This is something Minerva made especially for Fish nya!"
Fish put his hands on his hips and levitated the little silver comb to show it to his dorm mates.
"This is great!"
Harry and the others didn't think much of the comb, but complimented it to make Fish happy.
Only then did Fish put the comb away and walk with them to the Great Hall.
On the first official day of classes, breakfast at Hogwarts was no different than before, with oatmeal, pickled herring, sliced bread, eggs, and salted meat piled on the four long tables.
But as Fish sat down, a pile of round, white things suddenly appeared in front of him.
"What's this?"
Hermione, who was buttering the slices of bread for Fish, had been lucky enough to get her turn to prepare the food on the first day of school.
But now...
It didn't look like it was going to be necessary....
"It's a meat bun nya!"
Fish picked up one of the buns and took a bite, his favorite, aside from the sweet and sour pork, without needing to use silverware.
It took him only three bites to swallow the first bun, and then he looked at Hermione, who was holding a slice of bread, and said with a flick of his ear, "You don't have to prepare the food for Fish anymore, I can do it myself."
The girls at the table were shattered to hear it.
Fish seemed to sense the loss of Hermione and the others, and cocking his head to one side, thoughtfully, he took a roll from his plate and handed it to Hermione.
"As a thank you for your help last year, this year I'll share the food with you, how about it nya?"
The little witches, who had been moping, instantly looked at Fish and the plate of scones in front of her.
Fish hastily shielded his meat bun with both hands and said gruffly, "Only one at a time! There's not enough for everyone."
The little witches then turned their attention to Hermione, who, without thinking, popped the scone into her mouth.
"Huh?"
Hermione took a bite of the meat bun and was slightly surprised that the strange food tasted so good to her, and since it was handed to her by Fish, she was quick to continue eating with gusto.
At that moment Fish put his head in front of Hermione's, staring unblinkingly into her chewing mouth, his cute little face looking very serious at the moment.
"What, what is it, Fish?"
Hermione's face immediately reddened and she leaned back sheepishly, but quickly sat back down in her previous position, her mind filled with confusion.
Why was Fish looking at my lips? is he going to kiss me?
All sorts of rosy scenarios kept popping up in the girl's head, making her face burn even hotter.
"Hermione..." said Fish to his very seriously, "You're missing your mouse teeth nya."
"..."
Hermione, who was thinking about it, suddenly felt a bit heartbroken, while the girls who had thoughts about Fish felt relieved.
"Yes," Hermione replied with a dry smile, "My father is a dentist and I had him fix my teeth over the summer. Of course, I also used a bit of magic to help me, otherwise it wouldn't have been so quick."
She had turned down Ron's offer over the summer, not only because she had summer homework to do, but also because she was getting her teeth fixed.
She hadn't expected Fish to stop calling people by their nicknames at the beginning of term....
Hermione thought about it for a moment and felt she had lost a lot.
Then she heard Fish shake his head and sigh, "Hermione doesn't look so funny without her mouse teeth nya."
Hermione: "..."
In short, she regrets it.
Just as Hermione was getting depressed, there was a loud commotion as hundreds of owls came flying in from outside, either holding packages or letters large and small, circling over the Great Dining Hall, dropping things in front of the target person.
There was a lot of clicking and hooting at the table.
Fish bowed his head happily and waved to the owls.
"Good morning, Meow!" (●ΦωΦ●).
"Coo-coo-coo-coo..."
The owls responded with a chorus of cooing and then flew out of the Great Dining Room....
Except Errol of the Weasleys.
He landed right on Harry's bread plate, splattering him and Ron and Neville next to him with butter.
"Oh, no-no," Ron exclaimed.
"Don't worry, Ron, he's still alive."
Harry lifted Errol off the tray and took the red envelope from his mouth and handed it to Ron.
But Ron had a tormented expression, staring in horror at the red envelope in Harry's hand, while Neville on the other side had a similar expression.
"Harry, drop it!" Neville urged sharply, "It's a howling letter!"
At the same time he said to Ron, "You'd better open it quickly, it's worse if you don't." Neville said shortly, "My grandmother sent it to me once, I ignored it and...," He sighed, "It was awful."
Harry let go of the red envelope in his hand, not because he was scared by what Neville said, he still had no concept of howling letters.
The thing was... the letter was starting to smoke from all four corners, it looked like it was going to burn, or explode.
Ron reached out shakily, then picked up the smoking red envelope on the table and opened it.
Then, the letter literally "exploded."
Mrs. Weasley's loud roar echoed through the Great Dining Hall, and even the spoons and plates on the table shook slightly, making a rattling sound.
The moment the sound erupted, Fish, who had excellent hearing and was unprepared, let out a scream and slid under the table with his head in his arms.
"Meow....Fish's ears!!!" (●QДQ●).
The Gryffindor table was in chaos as the young witches rushed to pick up Fish, who had slid under the table.
However, before they could voice their concern for Fish, he covered his cat ears with both hands and ran out of the Great Dining Hall.
"Help nya! Fish is going deaf!" (●QДQ●).
