Chương 170: Chapter 170: Happy Times Are Always Short (Edited)

Because it was late when he returned, Harry said goodbye to Fish and the twins, and followed Ron back to his room, and as soon as his head hit the pillow, he fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, Harry awoke from bed with a sense of delusion as he looked around Ron's orange room.

He hadn't expected to escape the Dursleys so easily, and it looked like he wouldn't have to worry about being abused again.

Harry followed Ron into the dining room in a daze, and was brought back to his senses by Ginny's shout.

The rest of the Weasley family greeted Harry with surprise at the sight of him.

And Ginny, who was too shy to speak when she saw Harry earlier, slowly regained her composure after screaming.

After spending a few days with Fish, she was able to face Harry normally.

Of course, the twins and Ron, who had done all this in secret, were still caught by Mrs. Weasley and had received a good lecture.

However, with Fish's persuasion and Harry's persuasion, Mrs. Weasley soon left them alone, and after learning how the Dursleys abused Harry, she also showed intense indignation.

After eating a hearty breakfast with the Weasleys and Fish, Harry told Ron about his experiences.

"So, the elf was really doing you a favor?"

Ron frowned, as if he had a problem with what Dobby had done.

The twins, on the other hand, were direct in their skepticism.

"It's very suspicious," George said, "And it doesn't even tell you who's planning it."

"Yeah," Harry shrugged helplessly, "He started banging his head against the wall when the subject came up."

"Comey bangs his head against the wall a lot too nya," Fish, who was bullying the magical Monopoly pieces made by the twins, suddenly raised his head and interjected, "The other kitchen elves have this hobby too."

"Um... That's probably their normal way of punishing themselves?"

Fred, who had been skeptical, hesitated again at this point, "If this is the case, then maybe he really did come to inform you without telling his master."

"But, I have never heard of an elf betraying his master."

George still maintained his earlier belief that Dobby had been instructed by someone to keep Harry from returning to school.

There was more lively discussion, but no real conclusion could be reached, and the matter remained unresolved.

After all, they couldn't find the house elf named Dobby, and it was a waste of time and energy to continue arguing.

Then Harry brought up another topic, "Ron, how much of your summer homework have you done? I've been cooped up by my Uncle Vernon and the others and haven't done any."

"Hahaha, is that so?" Ron scratched his hair awkwardly, "That's good, we can finish our summer homework together."

Which meant he hadn't done anything either.

Harry quickly understood what his friend was saying.

"That's not very nice, dear Ronnie," Fred said as he grabbed Ron by the shoulders, "It's only your first year at school and you've been putting off summer homework until now, if Mum finds out..."

"You'll be dead!" added George firmly.

"Why didn't they ask Fish?" ?ω?

Noticing the looks on Ron and Harry's faces, Fish lifted his chin proudly, "Fish is almost done with his homework! Otherwise, Minerva wouldn't have allowed me to be her guest."

He then handed the pieces he was holding back to George, "The pieces you made are too weak meow."

George and Fred looked at the broken piece and cried, it was the final version of the piece they had worked so hard to complete, and only because they had finished it could they go with Ron to pick up Harry....

Now they had to do it all over again.

But having done it once, it was easier to do it again, and since Fish had no ill intentions, the twins were able to let out a bitter laugh and forgive the cat.

For the rest of the day, Percy busied himself writing letters to Penelope, the twins doing their magic Monopoly, and Harry and Ron catching up on summer homework.

Only Fish was free to play around, even sneaking out of the Burrow to wander around the village of Ottery St. Catchpole from time to time, successfully taking in the village cats and dogs and claiming the whole village as his own.

But the good times didn't last long, as a few days later Professor McGonagall returned to the Burrow to collect Fish through the Fluffy dust.

After all, she hadn't finished her summer homework, and as a Hogwarts teacher, Professor McGonagall had been informed in advance of the course schedule and the books she needed to buy, so she planned to take Fish to Diagon Alley tomorrow.

Not to mention that the cost of food for this little guy is really high after his penchant for Chinese food, and Professor McGonagall is worried that Mrs. Weasley won't be able to afford his textbooks this year.... Lockhart is so evil that he has prepared seven textbooks for his own course, and each of them is really expensive.

So it was best to get Fish back as soon as possible.

But as he stepped out of the fireplace, he saw an unexpected figure.

"Potter?"

"Professor McGonagall!"

Harry was so startled to see his dean suddenly emerge from the flames of the fireplace that he almost dropped the cup in his hands, spilling some of his tea.

Professor McGonagall nodded reassuringly to Harry, "Good morning, are you here to visit the Weasleys as well?"

"Yes, yes."

Harry straightened up and replied.

After another nod, Professor McGonagall looked around, then lifted her feet and stepped outside, saying as she did so, "Relax, I'm just here to take Fish home."

She hadn't informed the Weasleys before she arrived, mainly because she wanted to make a surprise attack to see if Fish had behaved.

So when Professor McGonagall followed the noise to the Weasley's yard, she saw Fish chasing a flock of fat chickens.

"Fish!"

Professor McGonagall shouted the kitten's name, the veins in her forehead swelling with the gasping breath coming out of her nose.

"Meow~" ●ω●

Fish, who was enjoying himself, noticed Professor McGonagall's arrival and immediately jumped into her arms, his front paws on her shirt collar and his head rubbing against her chin.

A gentle smile appeared on Professor McGonagall's face, who quickly frowned again, grabbing Fish by the back of the neck and lifting him up so that his cat-like face was in front of her.

"Meow?"

Fish cocked his head to one side and looked at Professor McGonagall with a confused cat face, not understanding why she was so angry.

Mrs. Weasley heard the commotion and ran out of the house.

"Minerva, what are you doing here without saying hello?"

"Good morning, Molly."

Professor McGonagall greeted Mrs. Weasley as she picked Fish back up in her arms and turned to her, then sighed as she grabbed Fish's round cheeks, "You're letting Fish too free, the brat will only get more and more unruly if left unchecked."

"Meow!" (=`Д=)

Fish pushed Professor McGonagall's hand away with a paw as he raised his head and meowed at her in disgust.

Mrs. Weasley laughed as she thought of all the broken bottles and jars in the house during this time, and the mess that had been caused when other Muggles had seen her cat ears and tail when she had escaped from the Burrow.

But he was still in the early stages of spoiling the cat, so he took it upon himself to cover up for Fish by saying, "Fish was just playing with the chickens, it's good for the kids to be active."

That's right.

The kitten nodded in Professor McGonagall's arms.

No bad cat at first sight, Fish had been very well behaved lately!

"By the way, Minerva, what are you doing here?"

Mrs. Weasley finally asked about the reason for Professor McGonagall's visit.

"I've come to retrieve Fish, he's been here for a long time and hasn't finished his summer homework." replied Professor McGonagall, looking at the cat in her arms with a gentle smile on her face.

"Meow!" ∑(=ΦДΦ=)
