Chương 108: Chapter 108: Fish McGonagall (Edited)

Happy moments are always short-lived.

When the Hogwarts students returned from home one after another to school, Fish realized only after a while... that the Christmas vacations would soon come to an end.

"Meow, you're lying!". ∑(●ΦДΦ●)

Fish doubted it, he'd only been playing for two or three days, how could the vacation end?!

Didn't that mean he had to start writing those annoying assignments again?

"Minerva~" ?●ω●?

Fish found Professor McGonagall, who was preparing for the start of the school year.

"What is it, Fish?"

Professor McGonagall wrapped her arms around Fish, who ran over, rubbed his head and pinched his ears.

"Minerva, can we extend the Christmas vacations a little longer? I haven't had enough, meow~"

Fish cocked his head to one side, his ears drooped languidly on his head, his green eyes looked miserably at Professor McGonagall, making you want to take him in your arms and love him.

And Professor McGonagall did just that, leaning over, rubbing her cheek against Fish's little face, then pressing several kisses to his face before stroking his little head and spitting out the word.

"No."

"Meow!" ∑(●QÔQ●)

Seeing Professor McGonagall's earlier gesture, Fish, who thought he had managed to act like a spoiled child, was suddenly dumbfounded.

Professor McGonagall did not care what Fish thought, scratched his nose and said in an affectionate tone to Fish thought he was ruthless.

"Holidays are fixed, you can't extend them if you want to, you just have to wait for classes to start."

"Minerva, you big liar!" ?(●QДQ●)?

Fish left in a huff.

Since he couldn't extend his vacation, he wouldn't let Minerva, the big liar, touch him!

"Fish, what's the matter? are you sick?"

Harry and Ron asked as soon as they returned to the dormitory and saw Fish sprawled on his bunk in the form of a small tabby cat, looking listless.

However, Fish just looked at Harry and Ron and remained motionless in his litter, ears and tail hanging limply, not bothering to pay them any attention.

Ron reached out to grab Fish and take him to the infirmary, but Fish slapped him.

"I'll go get Madam Pomfrey!"

Harry spun on his heels and ran out of the dormitory, only to be greeted by the Weasley twins who had come to visit.

"What's the matter, Scarhead? where are you running off to?" Fred reached out to stop Harry and asked curiously.

"Fish looks sick!"

Harry broke free of Fred's hand and tried to run off, but was stopped by George.

"How can that be? I just saw Fish run off in a good mood." George grabbed Harry by the shoulders and pulled him along with him.

"Let's go take a look, maybe you and Redhead Number Four have been bothering him?" Said the twins in unison.

The twins pulled Harry over to Fish's bed, taking a good look at the still depressed cat.

"Fish?" Fred called to him.

The cat twitched his ears and didn't even look at Fred.

"Something wrong?" Fred continued.

The tip of Fish's tail wagged a little, then stopped wagging, and the whole cat emitted a "Don't call me, I'm upset!".

"Don't worry, Fish isn't sick." Fred patted Harry's shoulder and then, to his and Ron's relief, changed the subject, "Actually, it's not entirely accurate to say he's not sick..."

"Yes, it's also called the beginning of the school year syndrome, and we've had times like that before." George picked up where Fred had left off, rubbing his chin as he explained, "It's no big deal, he'll be fine on his own in a few days."

"It's really not that hard to cure."

Fred pulled a bag of snacks out of his pocket, unwrapped it and shook it around Fish's head.

"Meow~ ?(=?ω?=)?"

The unhappy kitten instantly got up, stuck his head in the bag and ate the snack by wagging his tail without thinking.

George and Fred: "Look! It's done."

Harry and Ron: "..."

Fish: "miamiamiamia~" (=Φ~Φ=).

...

As the start of the school year approached, most of the Hogwarts students were back at school.

They had a lot to talk about after a long absence, and the most common topic of conversation was the Christmas presents and cards Fish had given them.

The young wizards who had received Fish's gifts were very proud of themselves, and although they discovered that there were many who had received Fish's gifts, they were still very proud of themselves.... After all, there were still some who had not received them.

Besides, everyone knew how much Fish hated to write, and with so many people receiving gifts, Fish had written over 200 cards alone.

It was confirmed that all 200 cards were written by Fish's own hand, without any spells, which was a very difficult task for Fish, who doesn't like to write.

Those who didn't receive cards were a little more uncomfortable, as they were almost all 7th graders who had to face N.E.W.T. exams and worry about employment after graduation, so they had less interaction with Fish, and they weren't blamed for not receiving a gift.

But most heartbreakingly, they will be graduating this year and it is unlikely they received a card from Fish.

Aside from the unfortunate seventh-year students, the Gryffindors were in for a pleasant surprise when they returned to school to find a number of decorations, mainly plants, in their common room.

The decorations were, of course, all contributed by Fish, and in addition to the various plants sent by the Hufflepuff students, there was also a magical cat climber from Professor Flitwick, a golden cat statue from Malfoy, and a music box made by Muggles.

However, human grief and happiness are not the same, and among a group of happy Gryffindors, there were two who had contracted an illness similar to the beginning of the school year syndrome.... To be precise, they had relapsed.

These two wretches, naturally, were Harry and Ron.

After Hermione returned to school, she was furious when she found out that the two had wasted the entire Christmas break and basically found no information on Nicolas Flamel.

She practically escorted them to the library, borrowed two extra thick volumes and threw them at them, ordering the two sloths to read them in two weeks.

"You're crazy!" lamented Ron, clutching his head in his hands. "We still have Quidditch training!".

"Of course I've included your Quidditch training, otherwise it would only take you a week." Hermione told them cheerfully, "If you use all your free time, it's easy to read them in two weeks."

Seeing that Harry and Ron were still trying to struggle, Hermione lifted her chin and looked at the two of them and said, "You should know that this matter has nothing to do with me. It's Harry that Snape hates, and if even you don't care about your own life, then I don't have to anguish over you do I?"

Even though everyone in Gryffindor was on good terms, they just were.

With all the help Hermione had given, it was disappointing that Harry and Ron were still playing it safe for three days.

Harry and Ron knew it was their own fault, otherwise they wouldn't have been forced to go through all those boring books at Hermione's behest.

So, instead of getting angry about it, they quietly apologized to Hermione, who graciously forgave them... and asked to borrow a thicker book to read herself.
