Five months. Despite the shadowclone jutsu shortening the learning curve of most jutsu, it still took Rowan five months to master Danzo's techniques. Rowan looked at the fox he was currently riding on. With the help of the yellow crystals, Kurama finally managed to get his fourth tail.
Kurama also grew to the size of an adult horse and he was far sturdier too. Rowan also got him to learn a few variations of the tailed beast bomb. It was finally time for them to test out their current strength. Kurama surpassed multiple carriages in a few seconds before speeding towards the nearby forest.
Kurama rushed into the forest and began searching for demon beasts. They found a pack of six wolves hunting an antelope and Rowan decided to test out the first technique. He sucked in a huge amount of air before making two hand signs.
Tiger, Dog, Wind Style: Vacuum Bullets. Multiple bullet projectiles shot out of Rowan's mouth and penetrated the bodies of the wolves. The wolves and the antelope, all perished in front of the vacuum bullets. Rowan laughed out loud as he looked at this scene.
Rowan immediately looked for the next target. He directed Kurama into the forest and they came across a three hyenas. Rowan was starting to suck in air when a black ball of chakra appeared in front of Kurama's open mouth.
Kurama closed his mouth around the black ball before opening it again. A reddish beam shot out of his mouth as it obliterated everything in its path. The beam exploded and a huge gap appeared in the forest where the explosion occurred.
Rowan redirected Kurama even deeper. He wasn't finished testing his newly acquired jutsu yet. They moved around for a while but didn't find more demon beasts. Luckily, they found a cave. Hoping that a strong beast was there, Rowan and Kurama entered the cave.
Rowan made a mental note to bring a lantern next time since he could barely see anything without the sharingan. At least Kurama has night vision so there wasn't much problems. Rowan saw some bright eyes in the dark and knew there was an animal in front of them.
Not wanting to lose to Kurama, Rowan sucked in air and formed a few hand signs. Rat, Rabbit, Dog, Wind Style: Giant Vacuum Bullet. Unfortunately, Kurama was just as fast and two balls of chakra smashed into the creature in front.
Feeling the cave shaking, Rowan and Kurama ran to the exit. Upon exiting, the cave collapsed behind them and Rowan couldn't help bursting out in tears as he laughed. Kurama gave a few barks and they began going back.
As they moved back, Rowan killed all the demon beasts he saw. He made no exceptions. He and Kurama got out of the forest and the first thing he noticed was a group of knights heading towards him. He took out the Kusanagi Sword and blew wind chakra onto it to sharpen it and increase it's range.
"There is no need for that little friend, we are only here to escort you. The king wants to meet you since you managed to get rid of the dungeon," the knight at the front said. Rowan got rid of the wind chakra on the Kusanagi Sword before putting it away.
The knights made a circle around him and rode their horses in a special formation. Rowan felt weird since he was riding on a fox but thinking that his fox had four tails, he puffed out his chest with pride. The castle was surprisingly very far.
They rode for ten minutes before reaching the castle gate. It took another minute to reach the castle itself. Looking at the majestic building in front of him, Rowan couldn't help but feel small. He pet Kurama on the head since he should be able to grow far bigger than the castle.
"Please leave the fox outside and follow me," the knight, who previously spoke, said. Rowan petted Kurama's head one more time before following the knight. They passed through a courtyard and walked through a hall filled with people that Rowan was clueless about.
"Rowan Uchiha. Welcome to my humble abode," a middle-aged man was sitting on a throne. The crown on his head made Rowan immediately recognise him as the king of the Rustfoord Kingdom, Michael Remondo Rustfoord.
The knight knelt down on one knee and Rowan did the same. King Michael waved his hand and the knight stood up followed by Rowan. He didn't know how to act in front of a king so he was really nervous but he tried his hardest not to show it.
"A twelve-year-old able to defeat a dungeon. He even slayed a tiger with a yellow crystal," the king was praising Rowan so much that he couldn't help but feel embarrassed. "For all you have done for the kingdom, you shall be rewarded ten royal coins,"
Rowan didn't actually understand how the currency worked in this world but he could see on the guards' and the knight's faces that this was no small amount. The king snapped his fingers and one of the guards brought him a small pouch.
The king snapped his fingers again and two girls appeared. Rowan looked at one of them and recognised the face. 'It couldn't be,' he thought. "Jayden's little sister," he blurted out before covering his mouth. "You idiot! I am Jayden!" the girl screamed before she pouted.
"This is my niece, Jayden Wilschut, and with her is my daughter, Lindx Fiona Rustfoord," the king introduced the two girls. Rowan looked at the girls and made a mental note to not get on the bad side of these two girls since it could very well lead to his execution.
"We have more important things to discuss though. I need a favour from you, Rowan. Your individual skill is something that few people can match up to so I selected you for a top secret mission," the king looked at Rowan with a serious face.
"If you can finish this mission without any problems, there will be a huge reward for you as well as some information that you might find interesting…" hearing the king say these words, Rowan nodded his head to accept the mission.
