Chương 13: Chapter 13: New Plan

The next day, Scott started to put his plan into action. He knew Florence wasn’t going to like when she heard about it, but a man has to do what a man has to do.

He told his assistant he’d arrive late at the office that morning so he could call his private detective for more information without being interrupted. Mr. Miller was one of the best there was in the country and he worked for Scott on several occasions over the years. His service was impeccable and Scott didn’t trust anyone else.

The man picked up on the second beep.

“Mr. Lee. What a nice surprise,” the man said with a lively voice.

“Mr. Miller. Always delightful talking to you. And you’re right… It’s been a while since I needed your services.”

“It has indeed. To what do I owe the pleasure of your call?” Mr. Miller asked.

“Hmm… I need some information that only you can get for me. It’s not as hard as it usually is though,” Scott warned, knowing that the man would probably expect something big.
