Hadrian went to visit Dejah, who was working on very intriguing project a new form of Magic. It is a product of neither legends nor fairy tales, but instead has become a technology.
Unlike his form of magic or True magic,which was about intent,will and visualization.
But this is differnt,from what he understood this modern magic is an easier concept to consider if you think of things in two separate planes or dimensions:
The physical plane. This is the world as you can perceive it or reality. This is technically no different to the real-life world.
The second one is information dimension. This is a representation of the aforementioned reality, but not as we know it. Each entity in the physical plane (brick, desk, chair, person) is an information body (or Eidos as Dejah calls it) that is represented in the information dimension as, funnily enough, information.
The two, while different, are inherently linked. Anything that occurs in the physical plane will affect the corresponding Eidos in the information dimension, and vice-versa.
This is, at the most basic level, how magic works. By overwriting the information of an Eidos in the information dimension, those changes are passed through to the physical plane, and affect the target in reality.
Because in the information dimension, were things aren't constructed from base elements like in the real world. Instead, each Eidos is made from a perfectly organised series of Psions, which compile to exactly represent its corresponding physical entity, albeit in information form.
Psions (or thought particles) are the particle manifestation of intention and thought, and are an information element that records cognizance. As they exist in the information dimension, they are substance-less, and are more of a psychic phenomenon, but they are fundamental to altering Eidos - as well as being the building blocks of each information body, Psions are also the tool that alters them.
So Hadrian brought a cup of coffee and kept in next to her,while she was focused on her work.
Dejah took a sip of it without looking and said"I am finally got a working model."
This got Hadrian's interest,while Dejah showed a braclet and explained"This is Casting Assistance Device or CAD. Something that replaces tools such as spell chants, talismans, hand seals, magic circles, magic tomes, and other traditional methods of invoking magic."
Hadrian studied it and asked"How does this work?
Dejah explained"This device incorporates artificially manufactured Neurons that convert Psion signals into electric signals, using the Psion from a magic ritual sequence to produce a collection of electronic magic or the Activation Sequence."
CADs allows the processing of all the necessary components for magic in a single moment. In detail, these devices help accelerate the invocation of magic, as well as provide stability
Dejah worked out all magic had an blueprint in them,when used which she called an The Activation ritual is the blueprint of magic. Within it exists information equal or greater to the combined data of lengthy incantations, complex symbols or runes and rapid shift mudras.
These CAD's helps them infuse Psion particles inherent in their bodies into the activation sequence output by the CAD, and feed that from the subconscious magic processing system present in all mages into the magic operations area. Here the activation sequence is expanded, and all the necessary parameters input, in order to assemble the magic ritual. In this way, the CAD allows the processing of all the necessary components for magic in a single moment.
Dejah smiled in response and instead of brushing off her skirt, took out a thin mobile terminal. The front of the device was almost entirely taken up by a force feedback panel, upon which she began entering digits after pointing it towards the sky..
With an explosive roar of electric breakdown, lightning fired from the source to other electrodes he'd set up in the air—at the crown of the vampire's head. Dejah ran foward and pointing foward to the ground,she activated another spell.As a light blue sigil appeared on the ground, which magic to lighten weight, she lightly tapped off the ground and sprang along the treetops with the ease of a squirrel.
After returning to the ground,Hadrian questioned"So can anyone use this form of magic,if they have a CAD?"
Hadrian was slightly worried about this getting into the wrong hands.
Dejah shook her head and replied"I made sure to make self destruction protocols,if this fell into unknown hands.Also not everyone can use magic."
Hadrian was curious and asked"So there is requirment?"
Like a mage (or magic technician, or magic practitioner) has a what Dejah 'magic calculation area' in their brain. This is a subconscious region of the mind that allows the manipulation of Psions and subsequent construction of magic sequences to alter a target's corresponding Eidos in a certain way. All this will now be explained in more detail.
