Zhao Xing's leg were too short if not she would have kicked Zhang Zhengyang's leg to make him help her get out of the awkward situation.
"Big sister in the future, if you ever encounter a problem, this prince will do all in his power to help."
Zhao Xing's eyes shined when he mentioned this.
"Really?" She asked.
The ninth prince nodded.
Zhang Zhengyang that sat silently in his seat suddenly had a bad feeling about this.
"Aiya, it's simple, the last time brother Zhehan promised to get me…" She didn't finish her statement when Zhang Zhengyang coughed. "Zhao Xing, it's time to take your medicine."
Zhao Xing who was suddenly cut off from requesting the thing she most desired, turned to him in confusion.
"Ah?" didn't she already take that bitter bowl, what other medicine did she not take?
It only took one look from him for Nuo Nuo to bow and immediately leave, saying she would bring the medicine at once.
Zhang Zhengyang was satisfied with the little servant's performance, and a small smile appeared on his face as he turned to his ninth brother, "Zhehan, you go wait in my study, it's inconvenient for you to be here when Zhao Xing is taking her medication."
'It's inconvenient for me? What about you?' he didn't dare say so out loud and got up to leave, even though he was confused by his brother's statement.
"Zhang Zhengyang you did that on purpose." She called him out after the ninth prince had left.
The Crown Prince smiled, "You have more important things to do, eat and go rest."
'More important things to do? Like what?'
She suddenly remembered something, and quickly asked, "Zhang Zhengyang, how are things going with the poison master."
"This prince went to see him some days ago."
"Ah? Without me?"
"You need to rest, too much movement wouldn't do you good, or do you want to go through all that happened during the journey once again?"
Zhao Xing remembered how much she suffered on their way back to the capital after she had gotten injured. She rolled her eyes.
She admits she was too impulsive the other time, and hadn't considered how things worked here. She was seriously injured and still wanted to move around like that. But she couldn't say she didn't get what she wanted. Wasn't she here now, safe and talking to him.
With this thought in mind she smiled at him. "You worry too much, next time you're going take me with you."
Zhang Zhengyang understood that this girl knew no remorse. He was sure if they had to go back in time, she would do the same thing.
"That depends."
"Depends on what?"
"My mood."
"Dear Crown Prince, your mood is so unpredictable, how could you use your ever changing mood as a factor."
Zhang Zhengyang almost choked on his saliva. The girl was indeed getting bolder and bolder.
"Zhao Xing."
"Um?" He rarely called her by her name, and now that he did, she knew she had said what she shouldn't say, and so, as if to atone for her wrongdoing, she gave a big innocent smile.
Seeing her like this he lost the interest to scold her and got up to leave.
"Zhang Zhengyang, don't forget, ok? It was my idea from the beginning so I have to be there."
She shouted as she watched him leave. The other party of course didn't respond.
When she couldn't see his back anymore, she called out to her maid that stood at the door. Lan'er hurriedly came in.
Zhao Xing was in a good mood, "What are you doing out there, come and have a sit with me."
"Grand Tutor, Lan'er can't."
Zhao Xing frowned, "Come and sit with me." She repeated, the look in her eyes made Lan'er concede and she slowly and hesitantly sat down. She knew her mistress was like this. So…unpredictable.
Zhao Xing looked at the food that she suddenly had the appetite to eat. Sitting to eat with the Crown Prince was really a task!
'Just because of what I said, he's already upset. He wants to deny that his mood isn't stable?'
Zhang Zhengyang on the other hand was on his way to his study thought about the time he had gone to see the poison master.
[Zhang Zhengyang went to visit the poison master a few days back. He had discreetly gone there along with Xiao Chen wearing plain clothes. He didn't resemble the royal he actually was.
The poison master lived well in this small courtyard, and everything he needed was given to him. At the front was a small Herbal Store where some people sold medicinal herbs.
They sat down to discuss, both parties didn't show any hostility towards each other.
"So you're the man I have to work for? The Crown Prince."
Zhang Zhengyang's eyes narrowed, "you know that I'm the Crown Prince?"
"The little Zhao girl told me." He replied.
Zhang Zhengyang chuckled. "Then, she must have told you a lot more than that."
"Yes of course, it was interesting talking to her, so I listened a bit more."
Zhang Zhengyang nodded, "then I would leave out the explanations, everything you need to do your research would be given to you."
The old man scoffed, "Well of course, but that's what benefits you, just take good care of my granddaughter for me and I'll make sure everything goes according to how you want it."
Zhang Zhengyang smiled. "After you poisoned my people over and over again, if I don't make sure your granddaughter returns to you safe and sound with not a single weight lost, i'm afraid the next person who would taste of your handwork would be me."
The old man laughed, "It's good to be smart, it's good to be smart." He went on to say, "That Zhao girl hasn't died yet, has she?" She was his hostage, if she died he would lose this hostage, if she was alive then she must be useful to the Crwon Prince which would make him feel more secured.
"Why does old man Su ask this?" Zhang Zhengyang asked.
"I was just wondering if she had lost her use, with the poison I planted in her, if you no longer needed her, you would silence her won't you?"
Zhang Zhengyang smiled. "She's not only useful, but she has also become this prince's benefactor."
"Oh?"
Zhang Zhengyang nodded and continue, "She took an arrow coated with poison for this prince, I'm not so ungrateful that I would kill her right?"
Old man Su seemed surprised, "Then is she still alive?"
"Yes she is."
"Thankfully the poison I gave her can fight against many types of poison."]
Zhang Zhengyang suddenly wondered if Zhao Xing was cured of the poison on the arrow because of his men, or because of the poison Old Man Su had given her. If it was the later, that would mean he really would have lost his life if not for Zhao Xing who had been silly enough to come out of the carriage under such circumstance.
