That same day the gates of Raven were barred. It was a huge city and it took the whole day, plus the next one to close all the gates from all directions, and tunnels and secret exists as per the Queen's orders. The harbor which played a very important part in the economy and thriving of Raven was closed, and Aryan issued an emergency. 

The merchants were devastated to learn they weren't allowed to dock in Raven, some carried expensive goods such as silks, satins, spices, perfumes, wines of different colors and taste to sell to Raven. When they were denied entry into the city, this meant they had to find another port of substantial like Raven and it wasn't so easy to get one. 

Aryan knew the city would only survive if the gates are guarded by strong men, not allowing an enemy to enter inside was the only way to survive.
