Chapter Fifty Two: Before Motto-Nana
Two people sat on the floor in the room of Rian Yuki, one had a angry expression and the other had a light smile. They were sitting in front of the bright white light of the tv, they had controllers in their hands.
"Lets go again!"
Nana said while spamming her ready button, she seemed annoyed.
"I don't really feel like going again, maybe one day."
Rian said while putting down his controller.
"…"
The sound of teeth grinding could be heard from the pink tank topped girl next to him, she sat with crossed legs and her eyes stared at the boy near her.
"It was a good match, good game."
Rian said while extending his hand, it was not a good match…it was a flawless victory.
"…"
Nana grabbed the controller and put it back in his open hand.
"Play again."
Nana refused to shake his hand until she won or gave up.
"Yawn! I am getting a little tired…you should probably go back to your room."
Rian stretched out his body and looked at the ceiling.
"You aren't tired! It's the middle of the day!"
Nana didn't by his nonsense, she treated his words like a grown man selling candy at her house with a hospital mask on a friday night.
"It's the weekend, my sleep schedule is messed up."
"Don't care…click the ready button."
"…"
Rian didn't reply
"…Please, one more time, after this match…I won't try again."
"…"
"Do you have a heart! Can't you see a princess pleading?"
"…"
"Aren't you suppose to help your fiance's little sister?"
"…"
Red Nana gritted her teeth and forced out words….
"I will do a few things you want."
"…"
"I will do almost anything you want."
"…"
"Fine! I will do anything you want!"
Nana used her final trump card…
"Alright, I guess I can play another match."
Rian agreed to play again, but he went to change his character.
"Heh! Since you already agreed, if you run away or wuit…it's my win."
Nana would take any win, even if she had to play cheap. Nana looked extremely smug right now, she looked at her sister's fiance as if he were a dimwit.
"Okay, do you want me to do random selection or do you want to pick."
Rian and Nana were playing a fighting game. Rian often played this game in the hospital in his personal room, he could be considered extremely good. Nana on the other hand had just started playing recently, she had beaten Mikan, Momo, and Lala in a battle. They weren't really good since Nana had refused to tell them the controls, each win still boosted her pride.
"Randomize."
Nana said after looking at the screen and picking her character, Almala. She didn't know who he was good with and who he wasn't. It was a safer bet to allow the game to decide…
"Wow."
Rian said in a emotionless voice after getting a character, Gideon was the characters name.
"What emotion is that supposed to express!? Are you happy or not?!"
Nana didn't know wheather to be scared or happy.
"Do you want me to change it?"
Rian said while hovering his finger over cancel.
"You want to change it?"
"Maybe, I was asking you."
"Uggh!"
Nana scratched her head that wasn't even itchy, if he changed it and he got a better character…she would regret it. If she didn't, he could be extremely good with that character…he didn't seem glad after getting him.
"Keep him."
Nana came to her choice, she stared at his face.
"Okay."
A light grin appeared on his face…
"Wait! Pick someone else."
Nana noticed his grin…
"Ok."
Rian repiled with hesitation and went to randomize instantly, it was as if he was waiting for it.
"Wait! Pick the old character again!"
Nana saw how quick he abandoned his other character.
"…"
Rian didn't move…
"What? You got found out?"
Nana looked like a smug Momo right now…
"Are you sure you want me to pick Gideon?"
Rian spoke in a voice that sounded as if hs were trying to help her."
"…Yeah."
Nana gulped before speaking, he almost changed her choice again.
"Alright…Gideon it is."
Rian clicked Gideon and confirmed it.
"What map?"
"Random."
Nana didn't really care about the map to much, she focused more on her opponent than the background.
"…"
Rian went random and selected three rounds.
"Why do they make this screens so slow?"
Nana complained, she wanted to hurry up and win.
"The map needs the load in."
Rian said while extending his fingers and placing his hands over buttons at a moderate speed, Nana watched his every action with a look of worry.
"…Are those real combo's?"
Nana asked after the screen had finished loading, the characters were doing introductions.
"Perhaps."
Rian didn't give her a direct answer.
"…"
Transparent sweat appeared on her forward before she looked at the screen to fight.
["Brawl It Out!"]
The announcer started the battle…
The map was pretty wide and the two stood a distance apart, you would need to charge for a few seconds to arrive at the target.
Rian was the first to do anything…
Rian [Limit burst], he activated his [Super Soul], and he drunk a [Potion]. He did all that under five seconds, by using speed running tatics.
Nana charged at him with hesitation, Rian was blocking rather than coming towards her.
Nana pressed the attack button…
He didn't fight back, he only blocked.
She kept going…
She spammed the attack button…
She continued to spam until her character…
"What!! How did I lose!."
Nana looked at her fallen character before she looked towards Rian for answers. She wouldn't press the next round button until she got them..
"You were poisoned, I drunk a potion that coated my body in poison."
"…Then why did I lose."
"My [Super Soul] negates all poison damage for twenty minutes, you were touching the poison on my body."
"…But I was still hitting you, shouldn't there still be damage?"
"Yes."
"Then!"
"My [Limit Burst] makes my heath recover faster when I'm blocking."
"…That's unfair!"
Nana's complaints caused Rian to shake his head.
"I can't do it anymore."
Rian said in a voice that didn't seem to care.
"…"
Nana noticed his voice and clicked the button to start again.
["Brawl It Out!]
Nana quickly charged toward Rian, he only blocked like last time…
She threw the first punch and quickly looked at the health she didn't bother to look at last time. That single look messed her up, Rian unblocked and hit her with a high level combo in seconds, he didn't even glance down to see if he imput it in correctly.
"What!"
Nana yelled out at the sudden lost of twenty five [HP]
"Don't look away."
Rian said as he charged at Nana, Nana blocked his attack, but was placed under the same spam she did to him.
"You!"
Nana rammed her real body into his shoulder to stop his attack, he didn't move. She used one hand to block and the other to attempt to knock the controller out of his hands.
"Your cheating!!"
"…I haven't started yet."
One of Rian's hands were removed from the controller Nana was still trying to grab. Rian's hand went behind Nana's back.
"Aahh!!"
Nana's tail was pulled…
"Now I started."
Rian's attacks hit Nana in game and in real life.
"Yo-Aahh!"
Nana leaned over, her block in game almost lessened.
"You really don't want to lose."
Rian twirled her tail and pulled it towards him.
"Aaah! Hah! Hah! Wait!"
Nana's pleaded in a unconvincing tone…
"Hmmm."
Rian hummed before bitting her tail.
"Aahh!!"
The controller fell from her hands, her guard was dropped.
Rian proceeded to play with her tail while be beat her unmoving character.
[Winner: Gideon!]
The announcer yelled out…
"Aaaahhh!"
Nana moaned for the final time before he body twitched and her eyes blurred. She laid on her stomach, unmoving.
"You want to play again?"
Rian asked the girl who's saliva leaked from her mouth.
"…"
She didn't respond now, but they ended up playing again later…each time ended in similiar ways.
