Chương 39: Patching things up pt.3
Beomgyu's pov
Soobin's strides reached the bed as quickly as Kai, startling Taehyun on the side. Can't blame him though. These two are quite intimidating whenever they aren't smiling due to their heights.
Yet Kai is the softest broad-shouldered six-footer boy I've ever seen. Still can't wrap my head at the fact that he's one of them but I guess that's the joke in itself.
"Cassandra, are you in pain? How are you feeling?" Soobin hunkered down and held her left hand between his big hands, ignoring Taehyun's existence just a few inches away from them.
"Just a little sore but I'm fine now." She responded and smiled weakly at Kai who was almost teary-eyed looking at her.
"Thank god." Kai sat down on the narrow side of the bed, "we drove down here after receiving a call and if not for that troublesome checkpoint we would've arrived way sooner."
"I appreciate you for coming." She smiled at Kai but it looked forced. The pain killers must've worn off or she didn't want them to see her current state.
"I was so worried I thought we will lose you like the last time." He sniffed. "I can't go through that again Cass. Please come back home."
Cass just squeezed his hand and he brought hers against his smooth cheek.
"We've brought bags of blood to replace their stock." Soobin stood back up and patted Kai's shoulder.
"They haven't used a single drop on her." I cleared the misunderstanding before it escalates further. "You can donate those as a sign of good will though."
Soobin's worried expression flipped into murderous as soon as our eyes met.
"Well, well, well. If it wasn't the almighty Choi fucking Beomgyu." He scoffed, "why am I not surprised to see you at the scene of the crime?"
"That's rich coming from you."
"You son of a bitch!"
I flinched when he tried to jump at me but Kai and Taehyun managed to keep him at bay.
"Stop…" Cass begged yet he was unfazed. I doubt he even heard her.
"This is all your fault!" He yelled while pointing a finger at me. "How many times must she face death in your place?!"
"What are you talking about?" I suddenly got confused.
He raised a brow at that statement.
"Who ran away from the wedding and pretended to live like a free man but still needed to be saved by the person he humiliated in front of everyone?"
"It's not like it's the wedding day although I still would do the same if I knew what I was stepping into." I ranted since I rarely get to confront him anyway.
"Still so fucking lame to wish her death that day just 'cause you thought she'd ruin your life!"
I paused and glanced at Cass's face. I assumed I'd see her hurt by reliving the past, however, her expression shows that she doesn't really care.
"I really apologize for being a dick that day but technically I just said I wanted her to disappear because I was upset around the time. Not in that sense. If you catch the drift which apparently you don't."
"That's bullshit. You still doesn't have the right to disrespect my little sister after all she's been through because of you."
I got tongue-tied at him speaking facts.
"You know what, since you're the most selfish person I've ever met, you probably planned this to happen!"
"Brother, calm down. We're in a hospital…" Kai tried to intervene, however I'm already triggered.
"Are you even hearing yourself?" I shook my head thinking how overrated this guy is on my father's perspective. Skilled my ass. Soobin is as clueless as us so he's trying to pin this on me. "Then why would I offer to endanger myself by giving her my own blood?"
"Don't act high and mighty just 'cause you returned a favor over countless ones." He scoffed.
I was about to retaliate when I caught Taehyun holding Cass's hand, trying to calm her down. It got me pissed for some reason, I spoke without thinking.
"I never asked for one." I glared at him. "And to think you and your father made her live this kind of life when she's this vulnerable!"
"Don't talk like you know us!" He yelled and some hospital staffs came rushing in. "If not for her, you'd be long dead!"
