Edith’s plans were changed suddenly when Lewis came up to her at the end of the day.

“Hey, Edith,” he said warmly. “We want to take you out tonight to celebrate having you join our team.”

Theresa, Lydia, and Sam waved from the doorway.

“We just want to spend time with our new friend,” Sam grinned, giving Edith the “thumbs up” sign.

“I, uh…” Edith paused, glancing at Caden’s closed door.

“If you’re busy, we can go another time,” Lewis offered, clearly disappointed.

“Oh, no,” Edith quickly answered. “No, no. I’m free. Let’s go. It’ll be fun.”

“We’re going to take you to the local pub,” Sam cheered. “Have you been there yet?”

Edith shrugged, “Only for lunch…”

Lydia joined in Sam’s cheer, “Let’s go! Drinks on me!”
