Edgar looked around the room, which he hated more than the girl his mother kept bringing around their home, saying he was meant to marry her in the future. Heather was her name.
The room assigned to him at the school his mother had sent him to was much smaller than the rooms he had at all of his parent's homes and even his grandparent's home.
It had been three days since his mother sent him on a carriage to be here while she went to who knew where to look after herself. She could have sent him to stay with his grandmother, but since the two of them did not get along, he was sent here.
His mother feared that his grandmother was getting in his ear and saying bad things about her. She was right, but Edgar wished she realised her own actions had made him think poorly of her. Not what her grandmother had said.
