Edgar turned the pages of the book he was reading, ignoring the sound of his mother cursing his father again. He did not know what it was about this time, and he was not going to ask. It was still morning, and he did not like to deal with either one of them until it was afternoon.
"Young master, perhaps it would be best if you were to go outside-"
"It would be better if you would get accustomed to this and stop trying to force me to go outside when it happens. I like where I sit, and I am not moving," Edgar said, dismissing the butler's suggestion. "Why are you hovering around me? You are the butler, not my caretaker. Find something else to pass the time. Where is my caretaker?"
