Gu Jin nodded with a gentle smile,
"Yes, really. But you need to trust me and come with me now. You look very weak and need proper food and rest."
The little girl hesitated for a moment but then nodded.
She tried to stand up but stumbled, her legs too weak to support her. Gu Jin quickly moved forward and caught her.
"Let me help you," Gu Jin said softly, lifting the girl gently.
The girl felt surprisingly light, a stark reminder of how malnourished she was.
As they walked, Gu Jin kept talking to keep the girl distracted from her discomfort.
"Do you have a name?" she asked.
The girl nodded slowly, "Ying Yue. My name is Ying Yue."
"That's a beautiful name," Gu Jin replied, "I'm Gu Jin. It's nice to meet you, Ying Yue."
Gu Jin wasn't the type of person who was gentle. But for some reason, she couldn't bear to be harsh on the little girl.
