I open my eyes and breathe deeply only to realize there is a weight on my side and warmth along my arm. I squeeze my fingers and find they’re entwined in someone else’s fingers. It takes a minute for my groggy brain to put it together that the weight is an arm wrapped around my waist and the fingers laced with mine belong to Felix.
I close my eyes and feel his breath against my neck coming in little puffs as he exhales. I watch him over my shoulder for a few minutes as I mentally gush over how cute the way his hair falls over his closed eyes is and how, at this moment, he looks so peaceful and calm. He is undisturbed by waking nightmares of his Lycanthropy.
He inhales deeply and pulls me closer to him, still sound asleep.
Here, right now, there is no place I’d rather be.
