Loki told the twins that he would call them when he needed them. And at the moment, Jasmine shouldn't tell Darvin about their cooperation. After a while, Loki told them to use the mana gems to buy a new house, and they agreed. The twins decided to spend the night in the hotel and search for a house in the next few days.
And in the evening, he went home, locking himself in there. He needed this time to think and organize his ideas. After going to his room, he heard a knock on the door. Darvin was looking for his brother. Loki opened the door to see Darvin, his arms crossed.
"What's wrong?"
Darvin didn't answer him but looked around. "Why did you reject the mana gems?"
Loki sighed. "Because I have another plan for getting the money."
The man raised an eyebrow. "I am listening."
Loki looked up at his brother while smirking and said. "I will be skipping school for a few days."
Darvin's expression turned into a frown. "Why?"
"Our school is full of rich kids, so I will start a fight, and you will bet money on me." Loki confidently said. "But before that, you will spread the rumors that I became depressed and suicidal after a head injury."
"Huh?"
"Then, when I challenge the strongest guy in school to a death match, they will accept this as my suicide. Hehe!~" Loki laughed evilly.
"Can you defeat that guy, though?" Darvin wondered.
"Of course!" His eyes showed confidence. "My healing skill makes me basically immortal, not to mention wind manipulation."
"You're not coming out of your room for three days, and we will make dinner daily. Deal?" Darvin proposed.
Loki thought for a second and nodded. "Deal. But buy me some booze, will you?"
"Just today," Darvin quickly added. "But only if you cook today."
Loki's eyes brightened. "Deal. What should I cook tonight?"
"Chicken."
And the next three days, Loki stayed home while training. In those days, he learned to control the fire mana. He was practicing using the fire mana and learning more things about it. He made some adjustments to the fire mana when he mastered how to control the fire.
It was Wednesday afternoon. Darvin came to his room with a pizza box in hand.
"Are you still practicing?"
"Yeah," Loki said without looking at him. "Look."
Loki extended his hand, and a flame appeared on his palm.
Darvin looked at the flame for a moment, then dropped the pizza to the ground" Fire element?!"
"What the fuck," Loki yelled while looking at the pizza that was now all over the floor. "My pizza!"
"Sorry," Darvin picked up the pizza off the ground, but the rug was already stained with pizza sauce. "Uh..."
Loki stared daggers at him. "You're cleaning this."
Loki glared at his brother, who was smiling innocently back. Then Loki let out an angry sigh.
"Do we have more pizzas?"
"Yeah, I ordered three."
"You're forgiven."
Darvin just laughed. "Okay."
Darvin left his room to deliver the pizzas, and Loki continued practicing the flame. He ensured that the flames on his hand were controlled and not going out.
A while later, the two of them had finished eating, and both brothers sat watching TV. They kept chatting while eating their food and occasionally throwing the box away.
When it was almost 8 p.m., Darvin suddenly said something.
"Hey, I'm bored."
Loki glanced at his brother and saw him with the remote in hand.
"Wanna do something illegal?" Loki smirked.
"Huh?"
"Let's go kill some bandits."
Darvin looked surprised. "Wait... Why?"
"Because," Loki raised his brows. "I want to test out the flame ability."
"Oh. Okay."
The two left the house and headed towards the nearest slums, where bandits were. It wasn't that hard to find a group of bandits lurking in the slums since it was dark outside. "
"I'll take half," Darvin offered and picked the guys.
Loki watched his brother taking one guy by surprise and punching him in the face. The guy's skin began melting, and he released an inhuman scream.
"AHHHHHH!"
Other bandits attacked Darvin, but he created a wall of blue fire around him. They all died on the spot. Darvin walked over to Loki and saw he had an angry face. Then he realized Loki wanted to fight as well.
"Uh... I-"
"You fucking bastard," Loki growled through clenched teeth. "You burned down all their wallets!"
Darvin put his hands up defensively. "Accident!"
"And you killed them all by yourself! I didn't get to fight!"
Darvin didn't know what to say. So, he shrugged and said: "Uh... Yeah..."
"Fuck, fine." Loki sighed. "Let's find some more bandits."
Darvin smiled sheepishly. "Sure."
They soon found the next six bandits, and Loki fought them alone. When he defeated the last one, he grabbed their wallets.
"Damn it! How come all bandits are so weak," Loki frowned. "No challenge at all."
After getting rid of the bodies, the two brothers returned to their house. They sat by the table and played cards before calling for food. And once they were done eating, the brothers went to their beds, falling asleep instantly.
The following day was like any other day. Both brothers woke up and started preparing for school. Loki didn't shower. He decided to go to school while looking like a mess. His hair was messy, and his school uniform was a bit wrinkled.
"Let's go!"
Loki and Darvin arrived at school right on time. There were no classes yet, but they could talk at lunch.
Once everyone else arrived in the cafeteria, Loki spotted Julia, who rushed toward him. She was extremely worried after hearing the rumors that Loki became suicidal after his head injury.
He hugged her tightly before whispering in her ear. "Enjoy today's show."
"What show?" Julia asked, confused. "What's going on?"
Before Loki could answer, Darvin cut in. "You will see soon."
Loki nodded and looked around the cafeteria. He saw Mike Widow. Strongest esper in the school, with a pyrokinetic ability. Loki walked up to him and spat on his face.
"What the?!" Mike stood up and grabbed Loki's collar.
"I challenge you to a death match."
