"Really, that's the reason?" Joshua said amid laughter.

"Oh yeah. Did you forget the last time you came here?" 

Joshua tried to remember...

That day, she was cooking when Joshua came in to offer his help. Esther hand gladly accepted and gave him some vegetables to cut. He ended up giving himself a small cut and Esther rushed to help him.

Their closeness caused some sort of tension, as each of them were lost in their own thoughts, which made them lose track of time and by the time they were done dressing that small cut, the food on the stove was burnt.

Joshua jerked in laughter when he recalled that day. He felt sorry for giving her so much work because she had to start the whole process all over again. And also do the dishes as well. He had again offered to help, if not for anything, he wanted to help with the dishes, but Esther had politely declined.
