Derek checked the caller ID and saw that it was Joshua.

"I'll take this call outside. I'll leave you two now." He said, spared both mother and daughter a glance and left, closing the door softly behind him.

When he got out, the call had already ended. He wondered why Joshua would be calling him. Then he remembered the guy they captured. He had totally forgotten about him. Was he dead? He called Joshua back.

"Yes, Joshua." Derek said as soon as the call got connected. 

"Boss, there's something you should know." Joshua said at the other end.

"Is it about the guy?" Derek frowned.
