Chương 40: Meeting Dark Guild members
Nie Li and his comrades were cultivating by using the pellets they acquired from the Alchemy Association.
During the classes, Nie Li would talk to Ye Ziyun and try to leave a good impression on her while he would cultivate during the rest of his time.
His comrades did the same. The Yearly Assessment was just a month away. They wanted to show an impressive result during that time and dumbfound everyone in the Holy Orchid Institute.
In the meantime, Alan met up with the Dark Guild members. His outfit was the same as when he became the Masked Assailant and attacked Shen Xiu.
"Who would have thought that the Dark Guild is allied to the Sacred Family?" Alan spoke as he sat across the table from the Dark Guild members.
All the Dark Guild members visibly tensed. They were the same Dark Guild members who met Shen Hong in the old mansion of the Sacred Family a few days ago.
They were shocked that this unknown individual knew of this guarded secret.
All of them raised their killing intent and planned to kill him immediately. This secret couldn't be revealed!
"Before you attack and court death, just think about it calmly. Would I say this openly without possessing sufficient strength to deal with you all?" Alan spoke.
The Dark Guild members paused for a few seconds. They admitted that attacking this man randomly would be a bad move. He could be an expert belonging to a Noble Family.
They guessed that he was most likely 5 Star Gold Rank Demon Spiritualist. The Dark Guild members had Gold Rank Demon Spiritualists among them, but it would be challenging to defeat a 5 Star Gold Rank Demon Spiritualist.
"What do you want?" The leader of this group of Dark Guild members asked coldly.
Alan smirked upon hearing those words. He spoke, "I will conceal this secret on the condition that you do something for me."
The Dark Guild members visibly tensed as they heard Alan's words.
Their leader spoke after a short pause, "…What is it?"
"Attack the shops of the Divine Family and the Huyan Family," Alan spoke.
"Why are you targeting the Divine Family and the Huyan Family's shops?" The leader of the group of Dark Guild members asked.
Alan shrugged in response while speaking casually, "Raiding those shops would be beneficial to you since they are very rich families, and their business is thriving. I am targeting these two families because I want to reduce the Snow Wind Family's strength."
One of the Dark Guild members then asked, "Shouldn't we target the Snow Wind Family then?"
The leader of the Dark Guild members spoke, "No. The Snow Wind Family has few shops, and their economic strength is weaker than the Divine Family. And since the Snow Wind Family has fewer shops, it's easier to defend. So, it would be better to reduce the strength of their close allies. The Divine Family and the Huyan Family are their closest allies.
Both these families have many shops in Glory City. Even if they have hired many bodyguards, these bodyguards can't exceed the Gold Rank. As long as we time it appropriately, we can loot the entire shop and flee before the main family's experts arrive."
"You have a good head," Alan commented while staring at this group leader of the Dark Guild.
"…I already knew that targeting the Divine Family and the Huyan Family's shops would be very good, but I never attacked them. Do you know why? My group only has three Gold Rank Demon Spiritualists. "It would indeed make a massive difference. Wait…Are you suggesting that you are…?!" The group leader of the Dark Guild suddenly had a flabbergasted look on his face.
All the other Dark Guild members understood what Alan was implying. He was a Black Gold Rank Demon Spiritualist!
"Let's go to some quiet place, and I will give you a demonstration," Alan spoke while standing up and leaving the tavern.
The Dark Guild members stared at each other and wondered whether they should follow this strange guy or not.
After contemplating for some time, the group leader of the Dark Guild stood up and followed Alan.
He had thought quite a bit regarding the situation.
If Alan was truly a Black Gold Rank Demon Spiritualist, he didn't need to strike such a deal with them in the first place. He could easily raid any shop he wanted.
He was most likely trying to send a message to these families. He was trying to send a message to these families that the Dark Guild was after them!
This would alert the families, and they would definitely set up defenses against the Dark Guild. However, it would also intimidate everyone in Glory City.
Even a powerful family like the Divine Family wasn't safe from the Dark Guild, let alone the other Noble Families or random citizens. This should cause considerable chaos within Glory City. The Snow Wind Family would be compelled to focus on pacifying the citizens while preparing for an eventual attack from the Dark Guild.
Meanwhile, the second possibility was that Alan was merely a Gold Rank Demon Spiritualist. If this was the case, the group leader of the Dark Guild planned to immediately attack Alan and try his best to kill him!
However, when the Dark Guild members arrived in the empty field, Alan revealed his true cultivation at the 1 Star Black Gold Rank.
"How about all of you come and attack me?" Alan suggested with a hint of mockery within his voice.
The Dark Guild's group leader was cautious but not stupid. The other party had demonstrated his strength. Denying it any longer would be ludicrous.
