Chương 24: Giant Blue Armed Ape
Nie Li rolled his eyes. He then stared at Chen Linjian and asked, "Young Master Chen remembers my deal with you, right? I will choose the first treasure."
"Yes. Naturally, I do," Chen Linjian responded with a confused expression. He had already agreed to the deal, so why did Nie Li mention it again?
However, he soon understood the reason. Nie Li wanted to inform this deal to Alan and anger him.

As long as Alan was quicker than Nie Li in grabbing and concealing the treasure, the deal could be ignored.

Alan stared at Chen Linjian, "If I find something, I will keep it."
"I am the leader of this group, Shen Yue. I gave my word to Nie Li that I would let him choose the first treasure. I hope you give me this face," Chen Linjian spoke calmly and authoritatively.
Alan shrugged in response, "It depends on the value of that treasure. So, no promises from me."
He walked off after saying those words. In reality, Alan was leaving a way out for himself from that deal between Nie Li and Chen Linjian.
Alan knew Chen Linjian wouldn't act against him since he couldn't ignore the powerful Sacred Family. Their relationship would turn a bit sour, but it wasn't all that great anyway.
Nie Li was once again startled. He didn't think Shen Yue would actually go up against Chen Linjian like that. He was now sure that something about Shen Yue had changed. He was no longer the same person as before.

A group of people dressed in black robes appeared outside the Ancient Orchid City. The group of people was dressed in black robes, a total of 15 people.

These fifteen people belonged to the terrifying existence in Glory City, the Dark Guild. They would often kidnap nobilities kids to exchange for random. Only Alan from the entire group sensed the presence of these fifteen individuals. He sensed their presence, but he wasn't sure whether they were foes or allies.
In fact, the group had their own share of trouble as they came across the Giant Blue Armed Apes. These were tarrying Demon Beasts that possessed intelligence and were generally at the Silver Rank.
Alan noticed Nie Li putting some kind of medicine on the bolt before firing it at the Giant Blue Armed Ape.
The Giant Blue Armed Ape's body trembled a bit before he fell over.

Alan knew he had to contribute to the battle as well and pointed his crossbow at a Giant Blue Armed Ape and fired the arrow.
Alan's arrow was infused with a dense Soul Force, and it killed the Giant Blue Armed Ape upon piercing its heart.
Nie Li was startled as he sensed a sudden burst of Spiritual Energy when the arrow came in contact with the Giant Blue Armed Ape. This indicated that the arrow tore the Soul Force within the Giant Blue Armed Ape.
This kind of technique required a Soul Force much stronger than the opponent. Nie Li failed to understand how Alan achieved it.
Meanwhile, Alan noticed Nie Li's expression and understood that he was onto something.
'Okay. So I can't infuse my bolts with my Soul Force.'
"Zila. Tell me the weak point of the Giant Blue Armed Ape that can kill it in one shot without requiring Soul Force," Alan commanded Zila.
'Host just needs to strike the opponent's neck.'
Alan targeted the Giant Blue Armed Ape's neck and fired the bolt. He used a bit of Soul Force over the bolt to accurately strike the target.
The Giant Blue Armed Ape suddenly collapsed on its knees as the bolt pierced his neck. Soon, the Giant Blue Armed Ape tried to pull out that bolt, but it was stuck as it had already pierced the neck completely.
The Giant Blue Armed Ape died a few seconds later.
Nie Li also noticed this and frowned as he didn't sense any powerful Soul Force this time.
'Was that a fluke?' Nie Li didn't understand what to make of it. He soon loaded another bolt on his crossbow and killed another Giant Blue Armed Ape.
The entire group fought valiantly against the Giant Blue Armed Apes and cleared a way to the military ground.
"Roar!"
A deafening roar resounded in the Ancient Orchid City. The whole ground began to tremble violently.
"It's a Spiritual Grade Demon Beast." Nie Li swiftly spoke.
Ordinary demon beasts are the same as human beings. They are split into Bronze, Silver, Gold, Black Gold, and Legend rank. However, among these levels, there are still Normal, Spiritual, and Emperor demon beasts.
Chen Linjian asked, "What is its strength?"
"5-star Silver rank, almost into Gold rank!" Nie Li replied. Nie Li was able to determine its strength by the roar of that Giant Blue Armed Ape.
