30 km underground, PDM
Inside the last cell along the corridor of the PDM, leaning against the wall with his eyes closed, lay Alaukik. Cuffed around the neck, wrists and feet, he was unable to move around much, and had to just lay there, counting the passing seconds one by one.
'This is boring… I thought after what I did they might just decide to end me, but I guess they need me more than I realized. Well, it doesn't really matter, as this works out in my favor anyway. If they had decided to execute me, I would've had to run away, and that would not have been fun. The constant danger of me losing my powers along with the fact that the RC would keep chasing me would make it literal hell mode. It would be best if I can keep staying here, considering the many benefits that come with it. Apart from the fact that I need to make sure Devendra's all right, there's also the fact that Asha is the only one I know who might be able to help me figure out what's happening and how I can fix it. But even if I can't get her to help me, just having these anti-magic chains around is a great help in limiting my power… by a bit. Well, at least they won't be going on a rampage for a while.'
*Sound of shoe's hitting a metal floor*
'Oh, someone's coming! I wonder who it is!?'
Opening his eyes and looking towards the door, he saw a hazy face through the glass pane on the door to the cell, and as he was trying to figure out if it was someone he knew, the door opened, and in came the one lady Alaukik was hoping he would get to meet, the one lady, he had made sure would come to meet him.. Asha Chandrashekar. Walking in with a grim expression on her face, Asha immediately stood in front of Alaukik for a few seconds, and then turned back and ordered the guard
"Bring in a chair, no, in fact bring in two. And also, remove the chain around his legs."
Immediately, the guard turned around and within a minute, everything was ready. Moving his finally free legs around a bit, Alaukik sat on the chair and looked over towards Asha,
"You do realize Ms. Asha, that you just removed the chains of a very very dangerous criminal. And now you are going to talk to said criminal, without any guards whatsoever."
"Alaukik.. you've changed. I'm sorry I wasn't able to stop the RC from doing what they did, forcing you into mortal kombat with another mage. I know this doesn't help, but still, I'm sorry…" saying this, Asha fell into a few seconds of silence and then continued, "But, this does not mean that I can overlook what you have done this time. Although I would like to believe from the very bottom of my heart that this was not you, that no, the Alaukik I had gotten to know in the first few months could not have done this, and yet, all the evidence points towards you. Your psion signature is all over the place, and the fluctuations in space are still observable. So, please, tell me what exactly happened."
"What happened huh.. That is a long story, so if you're free, I'm ready to start anytime," saying this, he looked at Asha, and seeing no outward reaction from her, he continued
"Well then*, let's start from the beginning. From where this entire mess started.. From the day I killed the woman whose name I don't even remember…" and so, Alaukik spent a couple of hours explaining to Asha what happened. From suddenly losing control of his powers in the medical room, to finding himself in the forest, and then losing control again, and then waking up inside the research institute only to realize what he had done. However, he did not tell her anything about his powers over time, nor did he tell her what he saw in the cave.. After all, that information already had a buyer. And Alaukik hates breaking promises… **
"Is that so…" replied Asha, a clear frown visible on her face as she tried to come to terms with the information she just received. While any other person might just regard the entire tale as bogus and move on, Asha actually gave it some thought and then said,
"What you mean to say is that you lost control of your powers, thus losing consciousness, and have no idea as to what you did? Although I find it extremely hard to believe, I shall give you the benefit of doubt. However, for that doubt to turn into confirmation, you will have to tell me everything," seeing that Alaukik was going to say something, she cut him off saying,
"And don't tell me that what you just said was the whole truth, I and you both know that it was not. When you are able to tell me everything, will be the day I come to completely trust you. Before that, I'm afraid I won't be able to do much for you.. Of course, don't worry too much. This time I'll make sure no one, and I mean no one will be able to harm you." Saying this, Asha gave one last look at the young boy who was in front of her, so young and yet having to bear so much, and then slowly stood up and turned around to leave. Yet suddenly,
"Please wait for a minute. I still have some things I want to tell you," came Alaukik's voice. Turning around, a surprised Asha sat down on her seat again, and gestured for Alaukik to continue.
"About me losing control, everytime I do, something inside of me changes. It's like I lose all my emotions. At least, that's what I thought, however, it turns out that whenever I lose control and then come back, I don't lose all my emotions, it's more like I have a different world view. For example, if before losing control, I had an adverse reaction to blood, after losing control, I was able to cope with massive amounts of blood around me. And yet, before losing control, I felt like Devendra was a good person, someone who I could come to see as a close friend, and even after losing control, that feeling did not vanish.. It was just a bit.. Diluted you could say. What I'm trying to say is that losing control has been having adverse effects on my mental health, and so I would like to ask you for a favor. I would like you to develop a spell that can block psion flow in the human body. A spell that can allow me to slowly adapt to the amount of psions in my body. While these antinite chains are great, they don't really do anything in terms of limiting my power. I need something stronger, something strong enough to limit the monster inside me. Please." Saying this, Alaukik gazed at Asha, and waited for her response.
"Huuuuuu," exhaling deeply, Asha replied, "I shall try my best," and then left the cell. Going back above ground, she entered the helicopter waiting for her, and as soon as she got in she took out a device hidden inside her pocket and looked at it for a while. Then suddenly,
'Hahaha, he really wasn't lying to me huh. That means what he told was the truth as he knows it, or he is really, really good at lying. But, I'm leaning more towards the former.' And as the helicopter took off, the slightly smiling gazed back at the PDM and said something, which due to the blades of the copter were unheard by anyone.

Darjeeling, Bengal, Indo-Persian Federation
As one of the more well-off cities of Bengal, Darjeeling was a safe and clean place to live in. Unless, you lived in the slums. The slums were a gathering for the poorest in the city, beggars, criminals and others. They were often extremely dirty, and yet, the people who lived here were already used to all of the filth. You could see many people milling around, returning after salvaging something, or going towards the city, hoping to find someone who would be kind enough to donate to them. There were even children playing around, chasing each other while running across the streets. Yet, there was one child that seemed completely uninterested in the others. She was walking all alone towards the center of the slums, where the poorest of the slums resided. While she was, she kept muttering something to herself,
"I hope papa isn't angry today. I was able to get 50 rupees today, so he should calm down a bit. I really hope he doesn't hit mummy again today. I want to protect mummy, but everytime I try to, papa hit's me badly. Even mummy does not want me to protect her, what should I do? I should hurry back home and show papa how much money I got.. But I don't want to go back.. No. Divya, you cannot be a coward, you cannot run away. Mummy needs you. Yes, mummy needs me. So, I will go back home and show papa that I can be useful and collect a lot of money."
And yet, when she finally reached her home, she did not see the usual sight of her father sleeping on the floor, with her mother doing the chores around the house. Instead, what she found … was her mother lying on the floor, blood dripping from her head and her body covered in cuts of various shapes and sizes. Beside her, lay Divya's father, similarly covered in blood. Yet, when he noticed Divya entering the house, he moved his head towards her and started to speak,
"Brat.. it's your fault. It's all your fault. You should have come earlier, if you had come earlier, this would not have happened. Yes, yes, this is all your fault and for that, YOU SHALL DIE!" saying this, he started to slowly get up, and yet, it seemed that he had been cut across his thighs and legs too, making it hard for him to stand up. In this split second, Divya made a decision and dashed for the steel utensil lying on the floor, which her father used to beat her mother with. She picked it up and then threw it towards her father with all her might. And then
*Dang* came the sound of the utensil hitting her father's head, and him slipping on the blood and falling on the ground once more. Trying to get up once again, he said
"You dare - " and yet before he could complete it
*Dang* * Dang* *Dang* *Dang*
Before Divya knew it, she had picked up the utensil and was bashing her father's face in with all her might. Even when he stopped moving, she did not stop hitting him. Until after a while, she finally got tired, and her adrenaline rush calmed down. It was at this moment she knew, that she was free!***
Yo! Edited the previous chapter and made it so that only Hriday escorted Alaukik to the prison. Asha had to attend the Council meeting. Introduced a new character! I do hope that this dual character thing goes well. As for what role our new character is gonna play, heheh, wanna take a guess? Now, also edited the year in the very first chapter from 2084 to 2085, cause well, some stuff. Very hard to keep track of the dates. If i remember correctly, I said that Alaukik spent 6 months training, and then some in the forest? Damn.. I'll go back and take a look once more to figure out the timline properly. Can't have that jumbled when my mc literally can control time.
* Well, obviously I changed. From a teen pretending to be a child to a teen with immense knowledge of anime and novels, meaning, a very good grasp of fantasy worlds. Especially this one.
**
why? Well, blame it all on the poison he had to read to pass time.
*** You get the meme? ;)
What do you think of the chapter? Pretty long one eh?
Welp, thanks for reading and have a great day! :)
