Chương 23: Getting curious about Ji-hoon's father

"Too bad he took just one trait from his real father." Ji-min leaned on the wall behind him and Seo-yeon looked at him puzzled and shocked.

"How did you know he isn't Do-yun's son?" Seo-yeon took a step towards him, curious about why he'd say such in the first place but he raised his hands to stop her.

"No need to threaten me, Seo-yeon. And I'm sure when the time comes, you'll know the truth and see why you were a fool to leave your dreams for a man who betrayed you." Ji-min smirked while Seo-yeon snorted at his reaction.

"You had three different ladies who duped you and you think you're any better than me?" Seo-yeon raised her brows and Ji-min shrugged.

"It only happened because I didn't care. If I did you can't get a dime from me. Trust me." Ji-min removed a cigarette from his pocket and lit it.

"Still haven't quit the habit of smoking have you?" Seo-yeon mumbled and he smiled, removing the cigarette in his mouth, letting the smoke out of his mouth.

"Seriously Ji-min, tell me what exactly you know about Ji-hoon's father?"

"Really? I didn't know that was his name but not bad. Besides, I didn't call you here for your private matters young lady. I called you to offer you a job." Ji-min placed the cigarette with him in his mouth again and looked at Seo-yeon who had a deadly expression on.

"What is it? I came here for a job interview and I'm one hundred percent sure I would be chosen." Seo-yeon mumbled but she wasn't sure if those words she uttered herself were true which made Ji-min throw his head back in laughter.

"Oh Seo-yeon, you make me laugh. That doesn't mean you won't continue working here. I'm offering you this job because I know it would be beneficial to you and your son in future." He leaned closer to her, releasing the smoke of his cigarette on her face and she raised her hand to slap him but he grabbed it, placing it beside her gently. "Oh come on, Seo-yeon. You know you shouldn't be feisty in your current condition. I might be of great help to you in future, don't you know."

Seo-yeon took a deep breath and took a step back, leaning on the wall behind her and looked up at Ji-min. "What is it?"

"Now you're talking." Ji-min smirked and removed an envelope from his pocket. Seo-yeon collected it and opened it, removing the paper in it. "Work for my modelling agency Seo-yeon. I'm sure you need lots of money to secure your son's future and fight Do-yun in the future, these petty jobs won't pay for it. You need something more guaranteeing. It's a part time job. Maybe once or twice in a week and trust me, you would receive your full payment without stress."

Seo-yeon carefully read the invitation letter to join the modelling agency. She had heard a lot about them but didn't even bother checking them out.

"So what do you say?" He questioned, but suddenly paused like he just realized something, "oh wait, I forgot you take your time to think about things like this because you rarely do it. it's a surprise you dyed your hair. Your beauty is rarer than…."

"Shut it Ji-min. I didn't dye my hair, it was always brown with shades of black sometimes." Seo-yeon frowned and he chuckled, taking a step closer to her but he was stopped by the voices from the speakers.

"Tests are over and now it's time to decide the people qualifying for the next level. Please wherever you are, return to the sitting hall right now."

"I guess I should get going. If you've decided, call me."

Ji-min gave her his card and she snorted as he walked out. She placed the paper back into the envelope with his card before walking back to the sitting room.

Seo-yeon walked into the dressing room to put the envelope in her bags and walked back to her seats. As soon as she settled down, the room became dim and a large projector came down from the ceiling.

"Names of the people qualifying would be displayed on the board. If your names aren't there, thank you for coming, kindly try again next time."

The names started showing and those who qualified jubilated silently. Seo-yeon watched the board with crossed legs and her back rested. She was both prepared for rejection and acceptance.

Once the names reached the second to the last and her name wasn't there yet, she sighed and waited patiently for the last name. It took quite a long time before the name was revealed.

"Seo-yeon." A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she looked at her name boldly written.

"Those who qualified for the next round would be led to the classes where you would be taking your final tests. Those of you who didn't qualify, note that it wasn't because your dance wasn't perfect. It was and you all tried your best. You can always come back next time. Don't leave your passion for dance and follow your dreams. Thank you."

Seo-yeon stood up and took her bags before she was led along with others to another sitting hall Which was more luxurious and beautiful than the first.

"You all have assigned dressing rooms so please take a shower and we'll be back in ten minutes to take you for your final tests."
