Normally, a direct descendant of a Sector Duke would have a high status, but while Levi's father was Duke Hellblazer's son, his mother's identity was clearly not so special. Although Cain never asked, he could see by the way Levi reacted against scions who abused commoners that his mother must have been a normal person.
