We weren't quite in the city yet; we were speeding down the highway amidst a swarm of cars. The limo was accelerating, but I could tell Louis was cautious, not wanting to raise any suspicion.

"We should be getting there soon. It's been, what, an hour and thirty?"

"That's a very specific guess," I remarked, and Louis chuckled in agreement. "All I'm saying is that we should be close. We better be."

Just as he said that, they took an exit, reigniting our hope. They turned onto a street surrounded by grass and buildings, traffic intensifying.

And New York was worse than this.

The heat felt like being in an oven, making me feel like I was pie. Many drivers seemed to lack any brain cells, recklessly changing lanes amidst their constant speed.

However, as we continued driving, although constantly halted by traffic lights, we started to approach a quieter road.

I couldn't have been happier.
