Chương 4: Happy Once Again

It's been 2 months now and I'm happy to say everything has been going well for me at my job and I've also been doing well at school, and Emir. Yes, I have had moments where I would think of him, but I don't look miserable as before.

I was able to move from my old apartment and now I'm here looking around my new apartment that I just started renting with my own money. I'm so proud of myself for working this hard and so are my parents, Jason and Jessica. Today is my day off, so I thought of cleaning my apartment and buying groceries and a few pieces of furniture I need.

Looking around my apartment, it seems like I have a lot to do today.

When walking in from the front door, you stand in the living room. As you look ahead, you see the kitchen, which is a bit bigger than the living room, but that's okay since I'm all alone here. There's also a big window in front of the sink, overlooking the big city, which is quite beautiful to look at and especially in the evening. Between the living room and the kitchen there's a hallway that leads to the bathrooms and the study room. Well, I wanted an apartment with at least 3 bedrooms because my parents were going to visit me and finding just an apartment with 1 bedroom was not going to be cool since I have siblings too. Oops!

I had forgotten to mention my friends too. Actually, Jason never stayed in my old apartment because it was so small, plus he hated sleeping on the couch.

Now, back to describing the rooms, the hallway leads to the bedrooms and a single toilet with a bathroom attached to it, and also my study room and next to the study room was my bedroom.

After all the ups and downs of cleaning and unpacking, I decided to lay on my bed 'cause man! my body was hurting just when I was about to close my eyes, my stomach started to growl, just realizing that I hadn't eaten since morning. I decided to order pizza since it was almost dinner, so this was just going to be a perfect one for me.

After eating, I dragged myself to the bathroom and decided to shower well in my room. There is a bathroom with a big tub and a shower, so I just went in because I wanted it to be a quick bath from the exhaustion. At that point, after that, I just wanted to shower and get to bed and sleep. After bathing, I wear my pajamas and take a look at my balcony. The view is just so beautiful to look at. I'm so exhausted that I just want a beautiful sleep right now.

Back to my room, I sat on my bed and started screwing my phone. After 10 seconds of screwing, my heart stops when I see my feed. It's Emir and Jason in the picture and they look so happy together with the caption " mad buddies ". For sure, they were mad buddies back then when I used to see them together, since Emir and I were still dating.

Back to the photo, Emir looks so handsome. He changed so much, his body changed a lot. I mean he became hotter than I thought. Just looking at the picture shades a tear. I should've touched my phone in the first place. I took a teardrop from my cheeks and smiled at him for doing fine. He looks happy in the photo and I wish nothing but happiness for him. " I just have to be successful and focus more on myself", I tell myself.

My phone vibrates and a message pops up on the screen. It's my coworker Andrew. " Tomorrow is another off day. Do you wanna watch movies or something?" Andrew is a cute guy and I know he has a crush on me. I always try to avoid him whenever I feel like he's about to confess his feelings. I just don't want to hurt his feelings. I only want him to be my friend and nothing else. At this point, I just don't want to be in any relationship, especially this soon. I'm just not ready for it. I wanna focus on myself and find myself.

"Sure, but make it at dinner 'cause I'm planning on resting the whole day and maybe finishing up my assignments."

My phone dings once with a message popping out on the screen.

A message from Andrew " Thanks Emma "is all he wrote.

l check the message and turn my lights off and place my phone on the nightstand without noticing I'm already in a deep sleep.
