"It doesn't sound like they are handing over Zoey or Victoria," CJ remarked as he entered the office from behind Orlando, with Zach following him in.
"I didn't anticipate they would," Morbius answered his grandson.
"Now that Victoria knows the truth, it's time we go into plan C," Emily mentioned before she bitterly bit her lower lip from the hatred she had swelling inside her heart. "I want those little brats Victoria is pregnant with!"
"Settle down, Emily." Aurora hushed her daughter from the couch. "She's still pregnant. Besides, Orlando will determine what happens to her vamp babies over you because Victoria will be his wife after Kai has been vanquished."
"I can guarantee I won't disappoint you, Aunt Emily." Orlando touched her shoulder from behind her in the chair.
"And what are you planning on doing with Kai's offspring?" Emily bitterly asked him.
Orlando replied. "Detain them, of course, especially that dominant one. Likely it will be a male, and he'll be no different than Kai. Then the second offspring hides too much to know its dominance, and the third baby isn't showing much strength."
"Why not keep the weaker one? It'll keep Victoria in line," Mrs. Mill suggested as she wondered why her son hadn't considered it in his plans.
"I could, but it doesn't concern me," Orlando replied.
He wasn't worried about that since he was positive he could handle Victoria himself.
"His offspring is the least of my concern. I'm worried because our plans keep altering." Emily sighed, and Dwight cupped her hand that rested on her lap.
"Your dad has everything under control," Dwight reassured her, and then he kissed the side of her damp cheek.
Morbius concluded with a grin. "I certainly do. My first gift prophesied about the location of her birth and the exact time Victoria would be born. While Kai took his nap and his family looked in the wrong places, we had the upper hand by keeping his mate right by us. If it wasn't for the Vampire Covenant restrictions, Orlando would have raised her from when she was an infant. Unfortunately, she wasn't your mate to take."
Orlando grinned at the thought. "Too bad for that. She'd be feeding me blood from a spoon. She would be head over heels in love with me," he chuckled.
"That was plan A if she didn't wake Kai," Emily snarled. "After she transforms into a vampiress, she'll love him and not you anyway!"
"And she'll suffer!" Morbius laughed. "She'll lose Kai and her offspring. Then Orlando will break her to the point that she'll be a good obedient wife to him."
"And what about her three gifts?" Emily brought it up as she hissed. "She'll be strong one day."
"Males can only train vampiresses to use their gifts," Orlando refuted. "It takes a long time to master each gift and its levels. I'll have her to myself before Kai gets a chance to teach her too much. I'll deny teaching her if she refuses to cooperate with me. Better yet, I'll take her heart. This way, she can't use her gifts without my say. Her happiness can be her choice."
Emily reminded them as tears swelled in her eyes. "You still can't underestimate Kai. He's dangerous like Vlad."
Morbius scowled as he replied. "Of course he is. Kai might be half O'Donnell, but he is more Collin. He strikes like his grandfather Vlad. If you were to hand Kai the enemy's vamp baby and tell him to detain it, he'd do it without question. In fact, he impresses me so much that I'd take him as a minion if he wasn't such a threat."
From the couch, Mr. Mill added beside his wife. "He would benefit us as a minion. His father has gone soft and naive, like his brother, but Kai is that same fearsome warrior I remember him to be. Just like my sons."
"Forget it! I want them all detained! I only want CJ to have Zoey, and Victoria goes to my nephew." Emily bitterly demanded before she dabbed her tears away with the tissue Dwight had given her.
Morbius scowled at thinking about what his daughter had gone through. "Gaston and Morticia will pay for your pain, my dear. His sons will lose their mates, and they will be detained. It took a long time for Kai to learn his destined mate would be a powerful vampiress. Unlike him, we knew about his mate being the most powerful prophecy any Headmaster had ever foreseen. Far more powerful than Zoey."
"But that backfired on us once he dreamt about her," Orlando reminded everyone as this all happened so long ago.
"That was bound to happen," Zach said, standing to his left. "I'm only surprised it took him and Chester so long to dream about their mates. If it wasn't for my grandfather prophesying about Zoey, who would've ever known Vlad's two grandsons would be fated to be with two powerful girls."
"We were lucky to take such an advantage. At least with Victoria," Aurora recalled with a wicked smile as her hairless cat was eating up her affection by purring. Things didn't go according to plan with Zoey.
Orlando then sighed as he brought it to everyone's attention. "We have another problem about Victoria getting her votes. I've heard the word from our allies that she isn't going to make the cut."
CJ remarked. "That's because there are too many Covens that hate the idea that Kai's mate will make him more powerful. Also, they hate the idea that he has awakened from his detained slumber."
"Most of the Vampire Covenant and many Covens hate Kai because he causes trouble," Mr. Mill stated, rolling his eyes.
"Regardless of Kai, we need to help secure Victoria's vote," Morbius decreed.
"What for?" Aurora questioned her husband. "Headmaster Edgar will come up with something to ensure she'll be safe."
Morbius dictums his response sweetly. "It never hurts, my darling. For extra precautions, threaten Kai's enemies to stop them from killing her. Tyler and Seth had crossed boundaries."
"I'll handle them," Orlando guaranteed.
"Also, I want you to find Chester's firstborn son," Morbius behested his demands, and Orlando slanted his head.
"For what?" he questioned. "He's only a young vampire that's been partly exiled by his father because he cheated on his wife."
"Precisely!" Morbius chuckled. "He isn't on good terms with Chester. He's young, which makes him easier to manipulate, and since he's partly exiled, it leaves him unprotected. If we can get him on our side, then it will benefit us. After he helps us betray his family, then we'll detain him."
"He might be on bad terms with Chester, but he'd never go against his mother Zoey," CJ mentioned, expressing his doubt.
"That's why you lie to him, and he'll never know," Emily advised her son.
"Alright, then we'll get him," Orlando affirmed.
"Good. In the meantime, we must awaken everyone in our Coven and prepare for war." Morbius announced, and everyone nodded their heads to understand.
I know its a lot of dialogue, but the whole thing is important information that will carry over to the second novel. Leave a comment if you wish and a review. Thanks for the powerstones.
