"George..." Cynthia's husky voice gave George butterflies in the pit of his stomach. The thought that his name was the first thing she said today felt oddly satisfying. He felt a flush of heat in his chest and in his neck, he quickly opened the window of the driver's seat and looked up in the direction of Cynthia's bedroom.
"Good morning... I called thinking it was a long shot for you to answer," he said.
He knew she had a habit of switching her phone off at night.
Cynthia's body sat up and her eyes snapped open remembering that he didn't come back to the mansion last night.
"Where are you?" She asked with raised eyebrows.
"Outside, do you want to leave together immediately or have some breakfast first?"
'He didn't forget,' Cynthia thought.
George already knew the answer to the question he asked her, but he did it only for the sake of manners. He knew all too well that she couldn't stomach anything on a day like this.
