The car stopped in front of the restaurant and Xu Anyi looked out the window, recognizing the restaurant's name. It was the best restaurant in all of City A, the only five-star Michelin restaurant in the entire city.
They only took reservations, and it was especially hard to reserve a spot.
Si Mu walked out of the car and helped open the door for her before the two of them walked into the restaurant together.
"Mr. Bai," Si Mu said as they walked in, and the waiter looked at a list before nodding and replying, "Please follow me."
Mr. Bai? Xu Anyi thought. She did seem to remember a Bai family in City A, but she could not remember if they had a son or not.
The waiter led them down the hallway and into the innermost private VIP room in the restaurant, and he knocked on the door three times before opening it, "Here."
Si Mu nodded and walked into the room, holding onto Xu Anyi's hand as she walked in beside him.
There was some talking in the room before they walked in, but as they stepped into the large room, the talking stopped as the two people sitting in the room slowly stood up from their chairs.
Xu Anyi was surprised to see that there were only two people inside the room, and there was an enormous round table, but only four chairs were placed on each side of the table.
The two men all seemed to be around Si Mu's age, and they were also very good-looking, although they could not compare to Si Mu.
One of them was wearing a black suit similar to Si Mu, and he had ink black hair and sharp features that appeared quite cold as he looked their way. He was tall and skinny, and he placed his hands into his pant pockets as he looked at them curiously.
The other one was wearing a long white coat and had chestnut brown hair, and he had large round eyes that made him look younger than the two of them. He was smiling as he looked between Si Mu and Xu Anyi.
The door behind them closed and Si Mu walked over to them, smiling as he faced Xu Anyi, "These are my two best friends."
He pointed at the guy with a colder expression, wearing the black suit, "This is Mo Haoyu. . . The young master of the Mo family. Our families are close so I grew up with him."
Then, he gestured toward the man in the white coat, "This is Bai Yu, the best doctor in the country."
The man smiled proudly.
"We attended the same school," Si Mu explained.
Xu Anyi nodded her head towards the two men and smiled softly.
Then, Si Mu turned to look at the two of them as he held onto Xu Anyi's hand, "Xu Anyi, my. . ."
He paused and Xu Anyi looked over at him, raising an eyebrow.
". . . wife," he finished.
He wasn't sure if she wanted others to know about their relationship, but in the end, he decided to tell them the truth. He was certain that these two friends would be able to keep any of his secrets.
Hearing the word 'wife', both Bai Yu and Mo Haoyu's mouths fell open in shock as they stared at Si Mu and then at Xu Anyi.
"Wife?!" Bai Yu blurted out and Si Mu nodded his head.
"Is that very surprising?" He asked coldly, raising an eyebrow at the two of them.
The two of them froze and then Mo Haoyu slowly shook his head, "No. . . No, of course not. . ."
Si Mu nodded and then pulled out a chair for Xu Anyi, who sat down. He then walked over to the empty chair next to her and sat down as well.
Xu Anyi. . . Mo Haoyu furrowed his eyebrows together slightly as he wondered why the name sounded familiar. Wasn't that the name of the old daughter of the Xu family?
He took another look at Xu Anyi and his eyes widened slightly as he remembered the one time he and his family had gone to an evening gathering held by the Xu family. That was the Xu family's daughter!
He looked over at Si Mu and found Si Mu staring back at him, raising an eyebrow. He cleared his throat and instead asked, "So, when did you find yourself a wife?"
"Exactly!" Bai Yu added, "And how can you not even invite your best friends to the wedding?!"
"There was no wedding," Si Mu replied, taking a sip of the hot tea in the teacup.
"No wedding?" Mo Haoyu smirked, "When did President Si get so cheap?"
Si Mu glanced up at him lazily and rolled his eyes.
"Sister-in-law," Bai Yu immediately called Xu Anyi, "You tell me. How did you meet our Si Mu? Who was the one that pursued the other?"
Xu Anyi blinked a few times as she looked over at Si Mu. How did they meet? Well, she couldn't really say the true story. . .
What? She was working as a cleaning lady in the Yihua Club and blocked Si Mu's path, begging him to be in a relationship with her-
Wait a second. . . She wasn't the one who asked him to be in a relationship! He was the one who had brought up that requirement when they first met!
She grinned softly as she took a sip of the tea, replying, "Of course the boy has to chase after the girl."
Si Mu glanced over at her, and a smile crept up his face as he did not say anything and merely nodded.
This surprised Mo Haoyu and Bai Yu even more as they exchanged a glance and then Bai Yu burst out laughing, "Hahahaha! Who knew that our President Si would one day be chasing after another girl!"
Xu Anyi pressed her lips together and did not say anything as she took another sip of the tea, looking over at Si Mu, who did not seem unhappy or embarrassed at all.
They talked a little more about Si Mu's experiences as a kid, and after a while, Si Mu raised an eyebrow, "Aren't we here to eat dinner?"
Mo Haoyu immediately clapped his hands together and a waiter walked in, "We are ready."
The waiter nodded and a few seconds later, several workers walked in, carrying beautiful plates of food as they were set in the middle of the table.
"Sister-in-law, eat, eat!" Bai Yu urged.
Xu Anyi smiled as she leaned forward, looking at the beautiful array of food. This was indeed the most expensive restaurant in the city. . . Every single dish looked so exquisite and beautiful!
As the four of them began eating, no one spoke anymore.
After a minute, Xu Anyi suddenly saw a bowl enter her sight filled with already peeled shrimps that were large and plump, and she looked up to see Si Mu wiping his hands on a napkin.
Her eyes widened slightly as he said to her, "Eat, I remember you like shrimp."
Xu Anyi smiled and pushed the bowl slightly over to him as well, "You eat too."
"Bleh!" Suddenly, Bai Yu scrunched his face up as he leaned over to Mo Haoyu, "Who would have thought that our brother Si would be the most person to get a wife! How can this be possible?! Now, we are the ones who have to eat dog food!"
Mo Haoyu shook his head helplessly as well as he buried his head into his bowl and continued to eat.
Xu Anyi chuckled slightly as she stood up, "You guys keep eating. I'm going to go use the restroom."
After she had stepped out of the room, Bai Yu looked up again and put down his chopsticks.
Then, he looked over at Si Mu and asked, "Is this one real?"
