One Week Later

"What do you mean, it's boring?" Chisato asked Tie. As she talked to her son before his daycare, breakfast was being made. Tons and tons of rice--enough to feed an entire group of people--and three dozen eggs cracked and ready to go in the lightly greased wok. Tie grabbed at her dress tail, giving his mother a pleading look.

Seeing that pouty face warmed her heart. Chisato leaned and kissed his cheek. "Are they bullying you?" She asked.

"No. It's just...they want to play with dumb old toys. And I can't read what I want there, 'cause all the adults take my books." Tie said. He gave a little sigh, "I hate being so smart."

"It's a gift, sweetie. Right now it's hard, but one day that mind of yours will do whatever it wants to. Go where it wants." Chisato gave him a hug and began cooking again. "You'll see it isn't so bad. Oh, I have an idea. You can bring your tablet and read the books you want on it. Would that be okay?"

"As long as it's more chemistry. I read all the ones you bought me last week. They were too easy." Tie said, scowling. "It's hard finding a book that isn't boring."

"Hehe. You always amaze me Tie. My little genius!" Chisato smiled to herself and added the cooked rice, expertly tossing the ingredients. After the rice had been added she placed grated ginger, chicken broth, peas, green onion and soy sauce in the wok. When those had cooked and melted together as one, the large meal was ready.

Shiroui came ambling from their bedroom yawning widely and rubbing his spiked head. "What's Tie going on about?" He asked his wife, plopping into a bar stool chair.

Tie jumped onto the table excitedly. "Daddy! You're awake! Do you have time to fight with me before work?"

Shiroui ruffled Tie's hair and slowly nodded. "I should. If we eat fast. But you can't go fighting anyone dressed like that."

The boy looked at his pajama's. "Shoot. Forgot. One minute!"

After he'd left to change, Shiroui chuckled. "He's a saiyan through and through. Even with that big brain of his, he still forgets to change his clothes."

Chisato brought over a plate filled to the brim of food and sat it front of her husbands seating. With a gentle smile she said, "He's still a kid. One day, though...he won't be. When that day comes he won't need me for anything."

"Oi...he'll always need his mother. C'mere, cutie."

Shiroui yanked his wife to him for a sweet morning kiss, tasting of toothpaste, and smacked Chisato's bum. "No talking like that. We're never leaving your side...." he said, winding his hand into her bunned head, "...especially me. You're stuck with me for life. No take backs."

"You're always so sweet to me. What did I do to deserve it, I wonder." Chisato nuzzled his ear, giving it a peck, before crying out with pain.

Instantly Shiroui knew what happened. "She kicked your rib, huh."

"Y-Yes." Chisato rubbed her sore side and breathed out. "It seems she's just as strong as Tie."

Without a word Shiroui left and came back holding a capsule. He popped it open and pulled from it a tiny bean. "Here."

"I don't need that much healing. Save it. I'm sure when she's bigger it will be more needed."

Despite Shiroui's protest his wife didn't budge on the topic. He ended up putting the bean away, reluctantly. "Fine. But let me know if you start getting dizzy, k? I'll swing by and bring this with me."

"I know. You were always quick to heal me before. But the rest test will be her birth."

Both fell silent in recollection. Upon Tie's entrance to the world, Chisato had been thoroughly unprepared for labor. The hospital wasn't equipped with enough pain medicine to cope with the birth of a legendary super saiyan, and they were shocked to say the least when Chisato's son had a monkey tail, claiming it a genetic defect. They'd even went to say he may be slow to learn, but of course that wasn't the case at all. Throughout her entire labor Chisato dealt with such immense pain any other human would have died. Several times she had flat lined, actually, only to be brought back with a shock to the heart. Luckily Shiroui had been there and fed her sensu beans each and every time she'd been brought back. They were only three beans left, now.

"Tch. Thinking about you on that operating table gives me hella anxiety," Shiroui said. His brows fell down, deliberating deeply on all the pain she would go through to bring life into the world.

"I'll be fine as long as Shiroui is there with me. Your voice...kept calling me back. I could hear you yelling for me."

Chisato's deep eyes filled with tears, remembering how strongly her husband had begged for her eyes to open. It was his voice she'd clung to when her mind had shut down from pain. "...Shiroui..." she mumbled, needing comfort. He gave it to her, pulling her to his seat, where she quietly cried into his shoulder.

"..."

Shiroui had intense guilt plaguing his heart. If she'd been a saiyan it wouldn't have been so difficult for Tie to come out. Because he bore the knowledge of what he'd done, Shiroui couldn't say much in the way of words at that moment. He rubbed her back and wiped her tears instead. "I'm sorry, Chisato. Because you're with me..." he began.

"Hic! It's okay. I want to have your child. Even if it kills me."

"H-Hey now--don't go saying that."

When they stared at one another, Shiroui could see the seriousness within Chisato's eyes. His stomach churned into a giant knot. At length they didn't speak, only the ticking of the stove clock telling time. Finally Shiroui took her hand in his and squeezed it. "If you did die.." he said, "I'd find those Dragon Balls."

"Then let's hope it doesn't come to that." Chisato got off his lap just as Tie returned in his navy uniform for daycare.

"Daddy!" He yelled, then, seeing his mothers shoulders quiver with a hidden sob, Tie flew over and yanked up her face so he could inspect it clearly. "M-Momma..." he pouted, "...you're crying."

"N-No, I'm fine. The onion made my eyes water."

Tie flicked her nose. "Liar! Green onions don't contain enough sulfur to do that much. But...I know I'm just a kid, so I won't ask you why..."

Chisato pulled her sweet tempered son to her bosom and squeezed his air out. "Oh, Tie, you make mom so happy. I wish you could be little forever."

"C-Can't breathe!" Tie squirmed out of arms and took a breath. He blew away his dark hair and crossed his arms. "I'm gonna grow up and protect you. Just like Dad!"

"That's my boy," Shiroui said.

Breakfast was gone within just a mere few minutes between the two saiyans. Shiroui left for work, taking Tie with him for training, and Chisato got ready for her barista job.

"Game master, look!"

GM pushed his glasses up and wheeled away from the screen he'd been staring at all day.

"What's that? Just a bunch of receipts?" GM asked, taking the papers and giving them a proper look. He read them one by one, seeing it all from Yokohama. "...I see. Good job."

"Yes! Shiroui has been using his father's credit card a lot. It shouldn't take me long to find his home. When we do..."

GM smirked. "Chisato Shino will be there. Move at once to her location. I'm sure those Time Patrollers will be swarming the area. Go prepared. Take him, if you need to."

"Are you sure? That could go very badly. He might even destroy us all, you know?"

"Do what you want. I just want that girl."

GM waved away his companion and wheeled back to his screen. "Only two days to go and this baby will be ready for BETA. Chisato Shino...you're going to be my test rat again. It's too bad you don't remember me."

Yokohama, Japan

"Oh, it's you again," Chisato said, seeing Zamasu enter the Coffee Shop.

She ran a hand down her black apron and smiled. "Would you like some green tea?"

Zamasu pulled back his hood in full view of the customers. He'd never done so before; and Chisato wondered just how he'd managed to get the green tint applied to the back of his head. It must have taken him a long time to get ready for the day. Without his hood, Zamasu's beautiful face was all the more apparent in it's rarity. The clearest of skin, upturned eyes with silver lashes, and matching gray eyes. He looked like a fairy or some other otherworldly creature.

Her regular customer shook his head. "There's no time for tea. I need you to come with me."

"Eh?"

Chisato's face grew hot and she looked around; her co-workers were staring at her open mouthed, and many of the patrons also appeared shocked. She covered her hot cheeks with her palms and squeaked, "Z-Zamasu, w-what are you saying?"

Zamasu narrowed his icy gray eyes. "You're in danger, Chisato."

'Oh, he's doing role-play.'

Her manager came over and chuckled, jarring Chisato's head forward a little, "Oh my~. You want to sweep her from her feet?"

Zamasu nodded. "I suppose that will do. Seeing that she cannot fly."

Chisato hid mostly behind the cash register and fanned her face. A good looking foreigner suddenly saying such a thing, just what was he thinking?

'Could it be he has a crush on me?' Chisato shook her head. Impossible.

"By all means, take her. She's yours. Just bring her back in half an hour." Said her manager.

"Eh? What?" Chisato was shocked hearing that. Her schedule never changed, and getting an early lunch hadn't been part of her plans that day. Still, Zamasu was her regular customer, and only came on her shift. She bowed. "Very well. Let's be off, Zamasu. Should you sweep me off my feet now, or later?"

He waited until she was standing before him before reaching and untying the knot of her apron. It fell to the tile. "Now."

"Kya!"

While she was used to Shiroui suddenly cradling her, a strange and beautiful man with pointed ears was another thing. Chisato clung on for dear life as Zamasu strode to the door and opened it with one hand, minding his luggage. There were whistles of impressed people behind, cheering his charming ways forward. After the bell above dinged he jumped onto the roof and said, "Hold tight."

"W-What's going on?"

"I told you." He looked down his sharp nose and sought out her lips. "You're in danger. I'm taking it upon myself to save you from destruction. Now, try not to wiggle so much."

"You...you can fly? Ano...are you an alien, Zamasu?"

"Indeed. Tell me where your son is. I'll need to retrieve him as well."

'He knows I have a son.'

She'd never told him that. Well, from the beginning she'd never even uttered her name. Yet Zamasu had known it all along. Not only that, but he'd been so kind to her the entire week, always making her sit and rest while he drank tea. Because of that she knew he wasn't a bad person, but an alien? It was obvious that's what he was. She wasn't so shocked, after all, her husband and son were aliens as well. A normal person would be alarmed at that knowledge, but she'd had time to get used to the idea. As for the danger, Shiroui often warned her about being safe all the time, yet never said a word as to why. Only Zamasu seemed to have information she needed to gleam.

Maybe today was the day she would get answers.

"H-He's at daycare. It's about ten minutes from here by train."

Zamasu nodded. "Point me in that direction."

It wasn't until she was in the sky that she recalled her cell phone, trapped inside the register. "Zamasu! I have to get my phone and call Shiroui!"

"He'll find us. Saiyans are equipped with a radar for energy. Forget the phone."

He even knew her husband was a saiyan. She, too, knew Shiroui could find her anywhere and often had, even in the middle of a bustling mall filled with people.

Zamasu was definitely someone she needed to close the gap of curiosity within her mind.

"Ah...yes...alright, then.."

[author-chan] I've been working on bringing this story to life this week. It's not perfect by any means, but I'm saving my money for a proper XP series tablet to digitalize my works. As such I've been training my hands very hard. I hope that those who enjoy reading this story will like it even more when it's a web manga. As for when that will happen, that will be nearer to March 2023. Currently, with my overseer, we're working on the details of how the art style should look. I'm not Toriyama or Toyotarou, but I favor the art style of DBZ most high. That being said, my own style for the manga will mimic DBZ and original Dragon Ball, but I hope that my own unique touch on it will be likable. Anyway, have a good day and thanks for reading! When my web manga comes out, I hope you'll support me there! <3
