Chương 56: Jezereth and Arondiel

"Jessie?" I asked as I looked up at the middle aged barista from the coffee shop at my old work. A mundane, middle aged woman who worked tirelessly to keep her little business up and running every morning. A woman whom I'd had countless meaningless small talks with, was now flying up in the air with the same loose ponytail she always wore. 

"Hello, Desmond..." She answered awkwardly through a screen of both shame and embarrassment. 

Somehow her acknowledgement made my incredulity compound. The middle aged man in his dusty brown robes and shoulder length white hair and beard screamed age old wizard; but the blonde haired woman with her loose amber blouse tucked messily into her high waisted jeans just did not seem to fit in. 

"I don't understand... What are you doing here?" I questioned, my mind reeling with a thousand scenarios. Was she too, kidnapped? But that would make no sense, I barely knew her...
