The clear blue sky was filled with white clouds that were like cotton. A large bird tore open a blast of air beneath the sky as it flashed towards the distance. 

Xaloc sat upon the bird as he pulled out a map. To many Atlantis High School, going out into the world for various missions was a big deal. Their training expeditions would often last for about half a month to a month.

One had to make all sorts of preparations for the long periods outside.

It was insufficient to just be strong if one planned to go out alone for a mission. One had to know all sorts of skills and survival knowledge to survive outside.

That is why you must spend at least four months as a student before going outside. Xaloc had found a descendant of Hecate and paid her to copy various maps for him. He had borrowed some herb textbooks in the library to know the dangerous herbs and the ones that would be beneficial to him.
