"I'm here to apologize," Alex lowered her head. She couldn't look straight in Ava's direction. "I didn't think they would try to drag you to the Pits. I thought they would make you create a specific potion for them. I thought they would teach you a lesson if you refused. I swear, I didn't want them to kill you."

"She regretted it," Damon said. Unlike Alex, he was staring at her face. "She did not mean to do it to you."

"Please forgive me," Alex added.

"So you wanted me to come with the team?"

"Yes. We need you to accomplish the mission. We can try to find another one but it would take us a lot of time. Come with us and I promise to keep you safe. Coming with us is going to be beneficial for both of us."

"It is beneficial." Ava nodded. "Alright…. Since you are so sincere. I will come with you. But you have to do what you promise. You have to keep me safe. Even if it's against your subordinates." Ava smiled before she revealed a crystal.
