She was taken as a witch for dissecting bodies of the rotten and studying them for the sake of finding a cure. The common folks thought she was turning them into curses and with her being wounded by an undead; she finally decided to leave for the Plaguelands.

There was someone in the castle who was seeking her for his sake and benefit; he wanted the Ustriestan to be under his control, and what's better than infecting people then giving them cures? He knew that she didn't reach the end of her research but he wanted the method to keep the Ustriestan from infecting the body further.
