Chương 64: surprise

Sitting around the big dinner table, all the gang and their families were eating and talking merrily.

Alex was sitting next to Emily and was thinking about how much he wanted his parents to be sitting around this table. He rarely thought about his parents, but in moments like these, when all his friends were enjoying their time with their families, he couldn't help but wonder what his life would have been like if he had his parents. 

He looked at his friends and their families and then looked at Emily with a melancholy smile on his face. 

Emily was talking to Lily, who was sitting on her other side. Oli was sitting on her lap, looking at the delicious food on Emily's plate with vigor like a predator getting ready to hunt his prey. 

"a penny for your thoughts?" said Asue, who was sitting in front of him. 

"ah, what?" Alex came out of his daze and looked at Asue.
