DING
"you have entered the frost forest dungeon."
"you are the first team ever to enter a dungeon."
"your rewards will be doubled."
A series of notifications rang in front of their faces, but none of them besides Alex paid attention to the notifications.
In front of them, there was an exact replica of the jungle outside of the dungeon, but instead of green, everything was white.
The only green thing surrounding them was the massive tree with the door in its trunk.
"I guess we have a way out," mumbled Alex before looking around.
"What are we supposed to do from here?" asked Max as he walked to where Alex was standing.
"I think the first thing we have to do is to find a clue. Look around for anything unusual that should tell us what to do next." Said Alex and started looking around.
All of them started their search, and not long after, Parisa shouted, "I think I found something."
Everybody stopped what they were doing and went to Parisa and looked in the direction she was looking at.
On the right side of the huge tree, there was a carving that showed a map of the jungle with some markings on it.
"This should tell us which way to go. ok, if the tree is at the center and that way should lead us to the first beasts so ….." Max started to talk to himself before Alex had the chance to say anything. "we are going that way."
'wow, he took charge even without me saying anything. He is getting used to it.' Thought Alex and followed after the team.
They walked for about two kilometers in the direction of the first marking and soon reached a clear area without any trees.
"be careful; as soon as we step into the circle, the monsters show up," said Alex.
After Alex said that, Max took charge again and said, "Paria will stand in the center with Leo, and everybody else, form a circle around them, and attack the monsters.
When he made sure that all of them were ready, Max gave the signal, and they dashed to the middle of the circle.
The big circle, around five hundred meters in diameter, started glowing in gold color, and soon monsters began to spawn.
"they are ice golem," said Alex in a relaxed tone.
For their current team, a few dozen level 25 common ice golems were nothing more than a joke.
Max, on the other hand, didn't laze around like Alex just because their opponents were weak and started giving orders, "Asue, start chanting your fire spells; we will buy you time. Everybody else, start attacking the nearest golem. Parisa, I don't think we would need Paria; you can attack too."
Kate was the first to start. She vanished from sight, appeared behind a group of five ice golems, and attacked.
Ryan followed with Reyhan and Sid behind him. The three had been working on their teamwork.
Asue stood at the center next to Leo instead of Paria and started chanting a fire-based spell.
It didn't even take them five minutes to get rid of all the ice golems.
Sid went to loot the corpses, and when he was done touching them all, they were happily surprised to find many different materials, equipment, weapon, and even a skill book amid the loot.
"wow, all this just for killing a few dozen common monsters? It's unbelievable. We even got a new skill book." Said Kate, looking at the skill book in Sid's hands.
"What is the skill?" asked Leo.
"it's called ice arow; it's a skill for mages," said Sid before looking at Max.
Ice arrow was actually a pretty common skill among the mages and wasn't something special. Almost every mage who chose ice or water as an element had this skill since it was mana efficient and easy to chant.
"then it goes to Reyhan since Asue's element is fire," said Max.
Although Reyhan and Asue were both elemental mages, Asue was focused on fire magic as her first element, and she couldn't use any other before reaching level 50 and completing her rank-up quest.
Reyhan, on the other hand, had decided to choose water as her main element to balance the team.
Since the ice was a sub-element of water, she could learn low-rank ice element skills without much difficulty.
Sid passed the skill book to Reyhan, and she learned it without hesitation.
"What should we do with all this equipment and weapons? They are all lower in both quality and level compared to our current equipment and weapons," said Ryan after going through all the equipment.
"put them all for sale in the store; we don't need them," said Max, and Alex didn't object.
Although they wanted to form a guild, they didn't wasn't to recruit just anybody in their guild and weren't going to equip them with such low-quality equipment and weapons.
"ok then, I will do that after we get out of the dungeon," said Ryan and put it all inside his inventory, "my inventory is almost full; what should we do about the materials?"
"Sid, you take the forging materials, and Reyhan, you take the alchemy ones. I will take the other materials," said Max.
There were a lot of different materials for different worker class jobs, and Max didn't think of putting even one of them for sale.
Sid and Reyhan consumed these materials like two hungry monsters daily for their experiments, so it wasn't a good idea to put them for sale just to buy them at a higher price later.
After some rest, they started walking in the direction of the next dot on the map and stopped every few minutes for Sid and Reyhan to pick up some useful materials such as plants and rocks that they found scattered around the road.
"What is that smell?" Kate was the first one to notice a strange but, at the same time, very alluring smell.
It was something between the smell of mango and apple with a little hint of cinnamon in it.
"what smell?" asked Sid while picking up what seemed like a regular rock.
"yeah, I smell that too; it smells so good," said Alex, "but where is it coming from?"
One by one, they all started noticing the heavenly smell and were curious to find its source.
'where have I smelled this before?' thought Alex.
He was sure he had smelled something similar before but couldn't put his finger on it.
"it's coming from that way; I will go check," said Kate as she pointed to her left.
After seeing Max nod at her, she dashed in the direction she had previously pointed and soon vanished.
It didn't take even a minute for her to return, "you've got to see this."
Everybody looked at each other before Max stepped in and said, "lead the way."
With Kate leading the way, they reached a part of the jungle with many trees so dense that it was difficult to see what was past them. The more they walked, the stronger the smell got.
"it's just past those trees," Kate pointed.
"What is?" asked Max.
"Just look, and you will see."
Max didn't say anything more and went ahead and passed the few trees.
When he looked ahead, he was so shocked that he almost dropped to the ground.
In front of him, there was a HUGE, beautiful snake, sleeping around what seemed like a golden tree with a lot of different fruit on it.
"oh, shit, I remember now; it's the Hesperides garden. But what is it doing here?"
