Alex and Max ran to Emily's room, ready to get into a fight with an intruder, but then they saw Emily looking in the mirror and shouting, "I, AM, SO, BEAUTIFUUUUUULL. I LOOK JUST LIKE MY MOOOOM."
Alex stopped in his tracks and looked at his sister with eyes filled with disbelief.
Emily's shiny brown hair was several shades lighter and had turned to a beautiful hazel color, her brown eyes, too, now were colored hazel, and if one looked into them more carefully, they could see a strand of gold in them.
All the imperfections on her skin were gone, and her skin was as smooth as a jade stone, and it seemed like she had grown a few millimeters.
But what astonished Alex the most was how much she looked like their mom now.
Before, she had some resemblance to their mother, but both of them looked more like their dad than their mom, but now, she looked just like their mother's childhood pictures.
Alex drooped to the floor, and tears fell out of his eyes as he looked at Emily. He missed his mother so much that sometimes it hurt.
When his mother died, he was still a child, and Emily was just born; neither of them had enough time with her, but it was a hundred times harder for Alex to lose his mother.
He remembered her warm embrace and sweet laughter whenever he did something silly. But after more than twenty years, Alex almost forgot his mother's face.
When Emily saw Alex in that state, she ran to him and cried too, "don't cry, Alex. I'm sorry, did I do something wrong? I'm sorry. I will be good; please don't cry."
Alex looked at her sister with a bitter smile on his face and grabbed her face with both hands, and said, "you did nothing wrong little mouse; you are the best sister anybody could wish for; it's just that… well, you remind me of mom."
When Emily heard her brother, she said with a smile, "I know, right? I look exactly like mom's pictures."
Alex hugged her tight and then stood up to go to the bathroom to wash up, but then Emily looked at him with astonishment and said, "Alex? why are you bigger?"
Alex was confused for a second before he went to the mirror next to Emily's bed and looked at himself. He looked taller and more muscular and, in a way, more handsome. Not Max's level handsome, but still, handsome.
There were no noticeable changes in his appearance, but he still felt like his overall appearance had improved.
"wow, I look so good," Alex said with a hint of pride.
Now that the others had time to process what was happening, they too noticed the changes in the two and looked at them with disbelief.
"How could this be?" said Max
"Dear God, you both changed so much …" Aunt Layla, too, was astonished.
"If I sleep for a week, do I become beautiful too?" said Lily, Max's little sister.
"I want to sleep too," said Mike and Matt simultaneously.
"Sorry kids, you can't," said Alex, bursting their bubble, but before they feel sad, he continued, "but there is another way. You will become more beautiful and handsome the more you level up."
Alex wasn't lying; the more a person leveled up, the more their body underwent changes and became the best they could be.
With slow changes in stats, the changes in appearance weren't noticeable to the people who saw each other every day. But Alex, who had been sleeping for a week, could clearly notice changes in Max and his siblings.
After talking for a few minutes, Alex was informed that, In the past week, with the help of Alex's information, Max, Lily, Mike, and Matt all reached level 20 and had chosen their respective jobs.
Max got a legendary job called heavenly martial artist, while the other three got epic jobs.
The results were out of Alex's wildest imaginations; he never thought that the system would still be so "generous" with giving out jobs.
"as for Parisa, she got to questing and leveling up right after I explained the system's functions to her, and she got her job last day," said Max.
"what about Paria?" asked Alex.
"I still haven't seen her, so I don't know about her. I think she is shy because whenever I went to check up on them, she never left her room." Max still didn't know about Paria and Parisa's unique situation.
"ok, I will go check on them later; for now, I need a good long shower and a lot of food; I'm starving," said Alex and then went back to his room and ordered room service for everyone, including Paria and Parisa and called them over.
After taking a long shower, Alex got out of his room and saw everyone sitting around the table with awkward looks on their faces.
Alex sighed, 'I guess they haven't gotten used to each other yet,' he thought and went and sat at one end of the table.
"let me introduce everyone," said Alex and started officially introducing them to each other.
When she got to Paria and Parisa, though, he stopped and looked at them before saying, "would you like to do it yourself?"
then Parisa stood up and started talking, "Hello, my name is Parisa, me and my sister live together, she is a little shy, so she rarely comes out, but she wants to say hello to you," then as if remembering something, she said, "please don't freak out,"
Max was confused, but the next second, Parisa's face turned red as if she was not comfortable standing there, and she started talking in a lower voice, "H-hello, my name is Paria," and then Parisa came out again, "sorry but she is still too shy to come out."
Then Alex started explaining Paria and Parisa's situation to the others and asked them to be patient with Paria and make her feel at home.
Aunt Leyla looked at Parisa with compassionate eyes and then said, "it's ok, sweetheart, you can take your time and come out whenever you like; I'm sure the kids would love to get to know you,"
"wow, so cool; I want to meet her again; she looked nice," said Emily, as if everything was normal.
"Yeah, me too," the other three were excited to see her too.
Parisa, who clearly didn't expect such a reaction, looked at them with disbelief and thought, 'as you can see, they are good people; I think you can come out, sister,'
'o-okay,' thought Paria and came out.
