Stardew City - 15:00
I realized something on the way back.
" Wait, I forgot to buy Pokeballs. "
While most Pokemons in the city are outside of Pokeballs that they probably don't have, they are still important. Because of previous cases of damaged public property, transport means and sensitive areas are now forbidden for any Pokemon to enter unless caught in a Pokeball.
Those Pokeball-less citizens are to put their Pokemon in loaned Pokeballs when traveling before releasing them at the destination.
The Pokeball teleportation-like technology from the game doesn't exist, so the alliance established strict rules about Pokemon movements.
After walking back for five minutes, I re-entered the PokeMart and went towards the clerk, who asked me.
" Hey, did you forget to buy anything? "
" Yeah, give me two Pokeballs, one for me and the other for the girl who came with me earlier. "
He's already seen our student card. So I can buy Orange's in her stead. We can only buy one each because we're graduating with Pokemon eggs. Otherwise, I'd need a trainer pass.
" By the way, the alliance just put these on the shelves last week. They are a new kind of Pokeball, offering more comfort for the Pokemons. It's called Luxuryball. "
The clerk took out a Pokeball from under the counter. Its color scheme is different from the one I know. It looks like a Premierball, the all-white one, instead of being black and gold.
" Alright, give me two of these. How much is it? "
" One costs a thousand Pokedollars. So it will be two thousand in total. "
As expected, it is the price of the in-game version before the eighth generation.
" Add two bottles of Miltank milk to the total. "
" Two thousand and ten Pokedollars, please swipe your card. "
I held my blue Pokeball-themed card over the scanner. Once the machine beeped, I exited the PokeMart and took the way back home for the second time in the last twenty minutes.

Hearing the door opening and closing, my mom, slumping on the couch, called out to me.
" Elijah, show me what you've got! "
" Alright, I'm coming. "
I had a seat on the sofa close to my mom, took my backpack off, and put the plastic bag on the ground. Sliding the zipper through, I pulled out the Pokemon egg and the incubation machine. Then delicately placed them on the table for the mother to see.
She took a look and raised an eyebrow.
" Why is your egg so dull? "
" Mom, all the Pokemon eggs are like this. "
" Is that so? Stop talking and incubate it. Don't forget to call me when it hatches. I want to be there when it comes out. "
" I'm going to do it at Sophia's place tomorrow. She wants our Pokemons to be twins or something. "
" Put it somewhere safe. I'm calling Maria later. "
Maria is the name of Sophia's mother. For some reason, all of their family's girls' names end with -ia. Her grandma's name is Nancia.
" Alright, I'm going up. "
I got up from my seat before going to the kitchen to cool the Miltank milk in the fridge. Then, taking my backpack and the plastic bag containing the Luxuryballs, I climbed the stairs to enter my room.
*pom*
I threw the stuff on the bed. Without the egg, of course, I put it in the closet. I sat down on my beautiful blue Pokeball-themed chair in front of the Pokeblock-maker to switch it on.
From the vast selection of Pokeblocks welcoming me, I set my sight on the low-ranked rainbow Pokeblocks, taking note of the berries needed to cook it up. I went to the storage room to pick them up. The berries are resting in different compartments according to their specifications. I soon returned to my room with all the ingredients in hand.
I won't say anything about their name because the author doesn't know what he's doing.
Pokeblocks, while able to provide countless benefits to the Pokemon eating them, can also be a source of trouble if consumed randomly. A baby Pokemon can only take low-ranked Pokeblock dissolved in liquid, preferably milk.
If the Pokeblock is still solid, a newborn won't be able to ingurgitate it. And from medium-level and up, the sheer amount of nutrients will make the Pokemon go into a state of overdose and possible poisoning.
As for attributed Pokeblocks, I am not thinking of making them today. Because I don't know the type of my Pokemon, and they lose effect if dissolved. It should be able to eat solid food a week after its birth.
Meanwhile, the machine has been heating up. It is ready to start making the Pokeblock.
The top lid opened up, allowing me to place the fruits with extreme precision for optimal results.
I relaxed, putting all my mind into making the rainbow Pokeblock. I can't waste those berries.
My hands started shifting by instinct, manipulating the whole process through the display. Be it the temperature, positioning, pressure, or the passing order.
I stopped moving. What felt like hours were barely two minutes. In the end, a five-by-five centimeters cube came out of the machine.
The result was completely different from what the game depicted. Instead of stacked colors, it was a wholly uniform and translucent cube with ever-changing colors going through the Pokeblock depending on the angle from which the light reflects.
Damn beautiful Pokeblock, I want to keep it.
Let's do a few more for Orange and pack them up. What, did you believe what I said two weeks ago? Well, it's true indeed, but it's Orange we're giving them to, so there's no problem.
I continued making the Pokeblocks until I had twenty of them neatly organized on the desk.
I took out a styled black box with orange linings, having a good twenty by thirty centimeters and a height of seven for the dimensions. I carried on by gently placing twelve pieces of Pokeblock in the slightly hollow compartments of the velvety bottom of the box.
Then, I covered each Pokeblock in an airtight mold wrought in black steel. There was no more and no less than one centimeter between the wrapped cubes themselves and the sides of the box.
Taking off the mold is done like an iPhone box is to be opened. After sliding up the first layer, a second layer devoid of a top comes into view. Meaning the Pokeblock is visible from above. Reverse the cube for the Pokeblock to come out.
The box itself is similar to the molds for its packaging.
Hmmm. I seem to have inherited my mom's OCD when it comes to Orange.
I put the box down on the desk and threw the remaining Pokeblocks into a small plastic container before going down the stairs to help my mom make dinner.
" Mom, did you call Sophia's mom? "
" Yeah, I'll be going with you tomorrow. "
" Alright, do you need to prepare anything? "
" No need, go to sleep early today. "
After dinner, I stayed with mom in the living room watching the television before climbing into my bed and falling asleep.
Stardew City - 10:30
I'm getting impatient there. Why is mom so slow? We're just going to Orange's house. What's the big deal?
" Mom, are you ready? "
" Wait a minute. I'm looking for my bag... "
I've been waiting for half an hour after taking my shower and putting on the usual sportswear. I took Orange's Pokeblock box, my plastic container, the two bottles of Miltank milk, the two Luxuryballs, my Pokemon egg, and the incubator.
" We're going to be late, mom! "
" Alright, I'm coming! "
She finally came down the stairs, dolled up and wearing stylish clothes as if she was going on a date.
" Elijah, let's go. We're taking the car. "
We went out to the street and climbed into our car. I am driving today. She said it's to prevent her hair and clothes from getting damaged. I don't get it.
I drove the car at a moderate pace for a minute before reaching Orange's house. It is an average house of two stories with a small garden, like ours.
I pushed the button on the intercom after getting out of the car with mom.
*Bzzzzz*
I like the noise.
Anyways, a voice came out of it.
" Hello? Who is it? "
" Maria, it's me, Emily. "
" Alright, come in. "
*Schlack*
The gate opened by itself, allowing us to enter the front yard.
Maria, A brown-haired and black-eyed woman, was waiting for us. Maria looks as young as my mom, and she also is thirty-eight years old.
" Elijah, Emily, how are you doing? "
" I'm doing great, auntie. "
" Same. Let's go, Maria. I'm hungry.
Maria and mom have been best friends since high school. Seeing that Sophia and I were born the same month and were of the opposite gender, they set us up together early.
Orange's father is working abroad now. I met him a lot when I was a kid. She inherited his orange eyes.
" Elijah, Sophia's in her room. She should be waiting for you. "
" Alright then, I'm going up. "
I ran up the stairs and entered a room through an orange door without knocking.
Orange was there, clad in shorts and a sweater. Her back was facing me, sitting on the chair behind her desk.
Hmmm. Is Orange watching Sole Bit, this world's version of One Piece? Is such a filthy show enjoyable? What a shame. The world is living in total darkness.
Her headphones were hampering her hearing, so she didn't hear the door opening.
I walked directly behind her and hit the keyboard's space bar with my finger to pause the video while taking the headset off her head.
She looked behind, surprised to see me for a moment, then smiled.
" Elijah, You came early. "
" Yeah, I had nothing to do this morning, so I decided to come over sooner. "
" Alright, let's go start the incubation. "
" By the way, Here's your Pokeball. "
I took the Luxuryballs out of my bag and handed one to Orange.
" Why is it all white? Are you so bored that you started painting on your Pokeball? "
" No, I'm not. These are the new Luxuryball released by the alliance. It makes the caught Pokemon feel comfortable or something. "
" Alright, thanks. Let's set up the machine quickly. I'm hungry. "
We both opened our boxes, revealing a glass cube with thick top and bottom components, where the machinery is.
At the bottom of the box were also two bottles of green liquid.
" It says plug in the socket from the bottom part, pour the liquid from above with your egg, and close the machine with the detachable top part. Then turn it on and wait until the liquid becomes colorless, take out the egg, and it will hatch later. "
We carried forward the instructions step by step and were soon ready to start.
" Orange, are you ready? We turn the switch on at the same time, ok?
" Ok. "
We pushed the button together, and the incubating machine lit up, indicating that it began to work.
" That's it? Now we wait? "
" Obviously. Come on, Elijah, I'm starving. Mom made some orange sauce ravioli. "
" Ah, yes, my favorite. "
" You mean my favorite? "
" It doesn't matter. It's the same. "
" Right. "
We went to the kitchen to see our moms eating without waiting for us. Humans have degenerated, such savages.
" Go help yourselves. It's in the pot. "
Said Maria.
We emptied the whole pot into our big bowls and went back to Orange's room to eat while watching our Pokemon eggs.
" Anyways, it will probably take a few hours before it starts cracking. Let's do something else. "
" Yeah, I just bought this new game, Mortal Kombat 11. Want to play? "
Phew, at least some things stayed the same.
" Alright, give me my controller. "
" Just a minute... "
And so we stayed there playing the game until the evening while our moms were talking in the backyard.
If there is any mistake to correct or upgrade I can make, tell me in the comments.
