Joanna put her expensive bag on the table, put the paper bag next to it and moved it towards the detainee. She sat down on a chair opposite her younger colleague. Lechoń was not wearing his clothes, just some detainee's rags. His clothes had been secured as evidence.
"I brought you normal clothes." That was the first sentence Joanna spoke to him.
"Thank you," he replied in a calm but weak voice. He guessed that the clothes were in a paper bag and moved it a little closer to him showing that he accepted the gift.
Joanna took a small folder of documents out of her purse and slid it under his nose. She also put a nice, expensive pen in front of him.
Lechoń glanced at the piece of paper lying on top.
"You?" he asked surprised. It was a contract between him and Klimek hiring her as his attorney.
"And what, you think that by defending you I'll spoil your reputation?"
"More like leave me with no money. I know what your hourly rates are,"
