Adrian’s POV
I run both of my hands through my hair, tugging at the roots in frustration.
I hate how conflicted I feel right now because it’s driving me insane and making me lose focus on the things I should be worrying about instead. I can’t let my pack down; I need to be the best alpha for them… but it’s hard when my mind is consumed with thoughts of Alicia.
I huff and storm out of the room after Alicia, only to find she is nowhere to be seen. Her scent of vanilla and jasmine is still strong in the air, but she is long gone by now. I have no idea where she went or what she’s doing, and that worries me.
I know Jean will be able to help me with my dilemma.
I rush down the staircase and through the house to find him in the games room with some of the pack children. Their childlike screams and laughter fill the air as Jean crushes them in a race car game.
I stand by the door with my arms folded across my chest, watching in silence.
