The three investigators fell silent, then turned to look at Wang Ye.

"The three of you, go over and calm yourself down for a moment. I'll chat with him alone," Wang Ye glanced at them.

The three of them nodded, their minds in disarray as they walked off into the distance.

Wang Ye picked up his dagger, walked to Lin Lei, and stepped on his arm.

But Lin Lei didn't panic. Instead, he said in a low voice, "Comrade, you are different from those good-for-nothings. You have potential and power. If we join forces, we can split the resources of this giant tree equally. I know some secrets. I can even bring you back safely."

"Return safely?" Wang Ye laughed, "You mean to say that if we leave, we'll be killed by an invisible sword energy, right?"
