After some time searching around England, I finally found the place I was looking for. It sucked wanting to find someone and not even knowing where they are, if I didn't try hard, the power of [Fast Travel] and the help of centaurs' prediction couldn't possibly have done it, at least not in a short time.
I arrived at Cokeworth, it was early in the morning and I was getting ready for my first appearance, I wanted to make a good impression. I would have to act like an average child, and I didn't know how I would go. For years, I have been a savage, it was even difficult for me to coordinate the clothes that I bought from the merchant.
Elise got mad because I didn't bring her, but I told her that I couldn't make her presence in the city, and even though she wanted to see the girl I was going to see, she agreed. I promised to introduce her in the future, but for now, she would wait and take care of the camp.
Standing in front of the house, I was thinking about how to make my first appearance. I saw the fence and after using [Life Sense], checking that my target was in the yard, I decided what I would do. I jumped, grabbed the edge of the fence, and with a little force poked my head over it.
Inside the patio of the house, I could see a very beautiful little girl playing with the flowers in the garden. She seemed very amused by her game, ignoring me, but not for long, as I made a simple exclamation.
"Hello"
"Oh...!!!"
The girl screamed in fright when she saw me and threw some dirt at me with her hands. I don't know if it was because of her incredible magical talent or pure chance, but her earth shot hit me square in the face. I fell backward as I coughed up the dirt in my mouth.
While I was drowning, the girl, who got over the initial fright, came out of the wooden door and came to see me. There was no fear on her face, but rather curiosity, she was very brave in that sense. I would have liked to appreciate it more or say a few better words of introduction, but I was not in the mood.
"Are you okay?"
"No...*Cough* Yeah...hello..."(Red)
"Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you"
"I know... nice shot" (Red)
"It's… Your hair and eyes! They're very red" The girl said, surprised, she had noticed it before but now she could see it up close.
"Yes, many say so. Hello" (Red)
"Lily!" Another girl's voice was heard coming from the house.
We both saw another girl leave the house looking for her sister after hearing the cry, a cry of surprise that she also gave when she saw me. She didn't seem as brave as her younger sister, and her expression before me was clearly nervous.
"Petunia! Look at his eyes and hair! They're so red!" Lily pointed out my peculiar appearance to her sister.
"Lily! Get away from him" Petunia warned her.
"I'm not that bad, you know?" I lied, I'm very bad "I just have a peculiar color"
"Let's go home, let's call mom" Petunia tried to drag her sister inside the house.
"But I want to talk to him, he was looking over the fence"
"Then we have to get away!" She reaffirmed herself after listening to her.
"I didn't want to spy on you, spy on them" (Red)
"And why were you looking?"(Lily)
"I felt something was happening, and I saw it, I saw what you were doing with the flowers, you did something... 'Magic'"(Red)
"Did you see it too?!" The girl responded excitedly.
"Yes, it's something special, I haven't seen a special girl in a long time... human. Where I live it's hard to see other children, so I wanted to say hello" I explained, technically, almost without lying.
"What are they talking about!"(Petunia)
"I..."(Lilly)
"Lily, Petunia!" The voice of an adult woman came from the house, she was calling the girls.
"I think it's a sign that I'm leaving, nice to meet you, my name is Red. I think I'll come to see you in the future, it would be nice if we could be friends" I got up from the floor and quickly said goodbye to them.
I already met them and it was enough, I'm not sure how their parents would react to me now that they still don't fully know about Lily's powers. I moved away to a place where I couldn't be seen to use [Travel] and return to the base. Will come back later, they are still very young but I think it is good to make my existence known early.
...
I appeared at the camp, where Elise was waiting for me. When I got there, she got up quickly to approach me. I had informed her of my actions and she was somewhat nervous since I left, now that she saw me she was more relieved but at the same time worried.
"How is she?" (Elise)
"As I would expect, she is very young, like me... well, she is really a child" (Red)
"Will she join us?" (Elise)
"I don't know, she's at the stage where she shouldn't even care about such things. I hope I can become friends with her first and see how things go. Are you alright?"(Red)
"Yes, now yes, I think I worried too much"(Elise)
"Okay, I'm glad you accepted what I do. Do you want us to find something delicious for dinner today? Marril told me where to find some very rare berries and we could make many things with them, although she asked me not to take all of them "(Net)
"Yeah, let's go!"(Elise)
Elise was excited, maybe because I didn't let her feel forgotten. Amazing how fragile she is in some ways and how strong she is in others. I jumped on her and we were about to start riding deep into the forest, but before we got out, we both realized that something was coming.
Our camp was surrounded by a wall of vegetation, bushes, and vines that magically formed among the trees, not a very strong defense but it was conspicuous enough to alert anyone that this territory belongs to someone powerful.
We did not expect visitors, we had signs with Marril and the other centaurs, the creatures of this forest already knew that we live here and they would not enter unless it was their last option, so whatever was approaching must be an enemy or someone foreign to this forest... or area.
With Elise, we prepared for the possible battle, but what was coming towards us was not exactly an enemy. We had taken cover among some of the trees outside to see our uninvited guest, but when we saw him, we didn't know what to think.
Hagrid, the Hogwarts keykeeper, had entered our territory and was currently trying to fix the wall of vegetation that he broke upon entering. Seeing him, relieved and worried us at the same time, he was not an enemy, but having him here in the camp was not a good thing.
"We have to go, move away" I whispered to Elise
"But I like this place"(Elise)
"Me too, but it's not good for them to find us, yet"(Red)
While Hagrid was still trying to repair the wall he broke, we secretly went out to the camp center and I packed most of the important things before using [fast travel]. It was a shame to have to leave the place but we had no choice, where there is Hagrid there is Dumbledore, and now is not the time, especially considering that I have no background in this timeline and that I am living in a very peculiar and suspicious way.
We moved to the centaurs' camp and after informing them that we would be moving and that we would notify them of our new location later, we set out.
We went deeper into the forest in search of a new place to settle, this time we would go deeper. We were stronger, now we had better chances, and that way it would be more difficult to find each other.
Elise was depressed, but I comforted her and told her we'd go back to get our stuff, plus when we got back to our time we'd have a campsite several times better than anything we've made here, waterfall and all. I was able to encourage her with my words, and the rest of the way was more pleasant.
The depth of the forest, we had lived here for a while inside our cave, then we have only been there temporarily. Settling here would increase the danger, but it would also improve our security, silly as it sounds. This time we should create a way not to be found, not by Hagrid, not by anyone else.
We spent the rest of the day looking for an acceptable water source and a flat piece of land to rebuild what we lost. We got something after dark and although it was not as good as the previous one, we could improve it with time.
The first nights were somewhat tense, the number of creatures here was greater and they were not as peaceful as outside. We had a fight with a troll the second night, but Elise's speed and my ranged attack was enough to drive him back.
We tried to rebuild the base but didn't have as much spirit as the first time. We went back to the old camp to look for the things we left behind, the idea of coming back here arose, but I rejected it.
In this new camp we got a little help from the centaurs and some of the creatures that lived with us in the old camp, they liked what we did with the place and hoped we would do it again.
...
Three weeks it took us to make the place practically ours, we cleaned the area that we would use and I started with new rituals and protective magic, only this time they would be more powerful and restrictive.
This time we fought more than usual, but at the same time, it caused Elise to gain a skill, [Charge]. This ability made her able to give herself a speed boost forward, albeit with a penalty on changing direction, it also increased defense and attack from the front, but reduced them from behind.
That skill was very good for combat, but it wasn't the best we gained these days. Just before starting this campaign, while we were running from the acromantulas, I had gained an ability but had never been able to see it due to it being blocked like the others, but now it had broken free.
The skill that was unlocked was [Fief], which was under the Auxiliary category. This ability allowed me to enter a different world or space, but it was very small, it was a 2x2 square of land with some vegetation, and beyond that, it was absolute darkness, although it was impossible to get out of the edges.
This world was completely mine and although it was small, the possibilities were endless. The more my power grew, the more the world would expand, and even if it didn't, I could also spend money to increase its size, only the price increased for each square meter increased in this way.
By spending money I could also acquire biomes, environmental features, or even levels for the world itself, being able to divide the place into several subworlds that could also grow endlessly. There are special structures that can be built in this place, but the size was still too small to do so, so I couldn't do anything, but 'the farm', 'the bank' and 'the castle' all caught my eye.
I took Elise into this world and verified that we can easily enter it with our teleportation skills. It seemed small to her, but she was very touched when I told her that in the future we could settle here and that no one could take us or kick us out of this place.
We had excitement in our hearts again, and knowing that this new skill would be a money burner, we decided that from now on we would start putting our efforts into collecting materials to sell to the merchant.
I asked [Help] if the changes made in the [Fief] during the campaign would carry over to the original world, and the answer was yes, but within each campaign, I can only grow and improve it to a certain extent, a limit that does not exist in the main world.
With that in mind, we now don't put as much effort into developing the camp, because with a little hard work we could have a permanent camp, one where we could come and go freely.
